US Open Final, some thoughts

Postby Avinash PatelBANNED » Wed, 21 Sep 2011 20:22

To Loki, at first I was going to rspnd to one of ur posts but I hv lost count of how many times u have attacked me in the lst 24hrs in multiple posts. The last post from u is out of line saying that u would for sure beat me if i took a diff player and tht I only got to the final be becuz of my abusive setup. This is quite a statement considering u hv never played me. I have not said anything to u at all so far so ur attacks r not entirely fair.

I wud like to say sum thing here and I hope u take this on board.

I hv never played you, u and I both hv come from nowhere and are in a grand slam final! We shud rejoice that we hv come so far. U hv beaten the best players so I am sure u have a talent tht other plyrs maybe don't hv. This means tht u are on path to be a champion. But to truly be a champion u need to make sure u not only play like a champion, but ACT like a champion. With grace and respect for ur opponent (unless they are brking rules).

So - let us let our rackets talk this weekend when we battle it out. May the better man win.

Good luck, Avi

Yow you need to take me less seriously man, havent you seen my posts???

im always arguing with someone dude its nothing personal, i like to express my opinion and discuss with someone that has a diferent opinion from mine(spirit of lawyers lets say).

So as i said its nothing personal, i just think your setup is a little unfair but then so is mine.

Good Luck on the final Bro. where´s that picture card??? did you get yet???

I have more trouble with the Welch setup than I do with the 98/98 setup. But that is because I use a lot of inside out shots, and it's very hard to make Welch hit a ball that isn't on the line. Also, I find slow shots much harder to time than fast shots, so I make fewer "perfect" shots against Welch - other people may have the opposite problem.

IMO, there are 4 dominant setups: 98/98, Welch, IR/CPS, and Kelly. Depending on how you play, one of them is going to seem stronger than the others. I think it is much better than any previous TopSpin game, where there was usually one dominant setup. At least now, we have the four main play styles: Big server, hard hitting baseliner, defensive baseliner, and serve & volley.

The thing is i´ve never played a really good 98/98 so im kinda getting a little nervous cause i heard people saying that it gets some amazing servers and crazy power shots.

Its kinda nervwraking keep reading that in the right hands is a monster, that its impossible to break and bla bla bla

I think Babb vs Welch is a perfect power vs speed matchup. Strategy and skill should be the deciding factors in that match.

Woot, so much arguments.

I have no problem when losing, I just have problem when I lose against people like you who use a stupid/unfair character. You know that this char is cheated.

PS: Your posts are illegible

Guess Roddick and Karlovic are not respected after all.

And what is skillful about 90+ strokes with welch?

I disagree. Yes, it is a build with a high focus on serve, but what else? Once you get into a rally, almost every other setup has the advantage.

And one thing I always like to point out about big serves - they don't do you any good on return games.

Since you've never even played him, I think you've reached your verdict before the trial has even started.

@Indiantonike, and everyone else who is against this setup:

How many tournaments have you won by using this setup?

Fair enough, were waiting for his recordind device to be delievered so we can post the final here anyway, i think that the video will show if any of our builds are unfair.

Weeeelllll Roddick and Karlovic can't really do much after they serve. Or hit a screaming winner if the opponent gets the ball back. Or get a look at the opponents return. All of which is capable in Top Spin. Idk what i'm arguing lol. I guess that we can't compare real tennis with Top Spin 8) :P :)
