your right they are using a heavier ball and they painted the court sideways which slows the court down.

and the ball seems to be jumping up quite a bit fed also has complained i think the organizers think an american wont make a run to the final so why bother helping them.

at the french the ball change made sense tsonga is capable of making a deep run he already has and so is monfils, plus federer has been made an honorary frenchman by the fans he plays french and speaks french too.

i guess nole and fed complain as a result of the slowing the court down the jumps up making if harder for fed more so to half-volley the ball, and rafa's topspin becomes more deadly.

Nole should not complain, on slow surfaces (clay) he's been far superior than Nadal during all season, so no problem for him if it's slower this year.
Against Fed, Nole should be happy as well, i don't think a slower court is a bad thing for him against the swiss.
How was the court last year?, i mean it's been getting slower every year?, Nadal won last year, truth is that he mainly could win there thank to his serve, which is strange hahaha

it was fast last year why do you think llodra schooled berdych in the art of volleying in straights,

or youzhny made semis or harrison and starkhosky put on an all court epic a fast court. look at the murray vs warinka the amount of times they attacked the net . the courts were quick an encourage guys to come forward more than they did in Wimbledon given nadal didn't serve volley once in the final. according to ITF ratings last year
1 Paris bercy speed 45
2. new york 40
2. wimbledon 38

in my opinion we always give too much importance to these things, and what normally happens is that the better player wins, that simple, doesn't matter if they play on sand, on water....
I mean if they played on ice Llodra would not win the US Open either

Maybe not, as Fed beat him on clay, the slow court, not hard court, fast or slow, this year.

yeah i know, but in theory it's not a bad thing, despite that defeat at RG

well he has a point the h2h on clay is 3-1 in favour of fed and even at this point despite this year fed is still the better clay courter
with 5 masters, 5 rg finals and RG title

he(llodra) beat nole in straights in bercy the surface makes a difference . e.g. fed maybe a better hard courter than rafa but rafa has beaten him on hard but rafa hasn't beaten fed indoors despite the match favoring him still why?

his chief tactic is relatively ineffective indoors due to low bouncing court that allow fed to step in and rip bh cc like he did in London so the surface matters. though through practice good tactics and mental perseverance a surface can be overcome.

Fish off and running. Is it normal only having 2 matches on the day session of Ashe?

Good too see Britains Laura Robson going through although Kvitova in trouble and looking absolutely horrendous, balls flying everywhere in the first set, 54 errors between the two in 1 set

The only fast courts left on majors was USO which is slowed down...this stupid thing is getting on my nerve! why the hell should they make the ball bigger and heavier and make the surface slower?! i know why..but its so so stupid. really annoying...goddamn endless rallies.

This is disappointing. I know they slowed it in like 2001 but then sped it up again. I do think the ball is one ot the biggest things with regards to speed. Probably the fastest courts now are bercy, tokyo and queens.

Yep bercy is where the Paris masters are played. Of course I forgot concussion is probably the quickest of all the masters. But that might have something to do with the weather I'm not sure.
