a crazy thing is that it looks like people are full concentrate to count the shots in a point ,instead to concentrate about their gameplan to win points -

maybe that is the point why they have such long rallies

okay seriously, the rallies are now little longer ,but not that long you guys mentioned

allways 50+ rallies ???? no way

50+ rallies or not.... this game is fundamentally changed since its release due to this patch.

It is no longer FUN to play but yet more of a bore fest as you wait for your opponent to miss rather than setup a point to hit a winner.

I know many will disagree here and one of my threads was locked to petition for a refund from 2k for changing a game I REALLY loved to a game that is both frustrating and simply no fun.

I have no problem with all the people who like the new patch. That's great... but if 2k wanted to release the game as it is NOW they should have delayed the release until they made the game they wanted to make.

As it is now, this game is completely different from when I first purchased it.

It's completely different from the demo that was released.

So it's a completely different game that I would NOT have purchased had it played the same way in the demo as it does now.

And since there are people who do like the new patch I think it's only fair to those of us who want the original game back to either:

1. Get a refund for the game.

OR

2. 2k reverses the patch for everyone and makes it an ELECTABLE download, and NOT mandatory for everyone.

If this mean that people couldn't compete in World Tour who didn't have the patch... so be it!

At LEAST then we could enjoy the game we bought originally instead of allowing the game to collect dust because we were mislead as to how the game would actually play.

[/quote] i dont knw if you read the interviews or looked at videos the aim of ts4 was to make an already good sim game in ts3 1. easier for casual gamers to get comfortable with controls 2. eliminate abuse of risk shot 3. making controls easy meant that if players invest time in the game the depth previously in ts3 is easily accessible.but instead they only made the control easier and no real time investment was need to be 'good'players with the various flaws. I saw you pettion and i feel your taking things slightly the wrong way the patches weren't just for 'hardcore players' they were made because they are trying to create a sim tennis game, that casual players can enjoy also. But the game prepatch wasnt the way they described it no one style or coach setup was to be stronger than the other each was to have attackable weaknesses this wasnt the case with PJQ and serve volley nd defensive setup ups were almost redundant due no UFE's the slice is overpowered .and so with this update DFB and S&V are viable and the next patch with balance the game in such a way that the most important thing will a user's skill at the game and ability to use their players set effectively and not abuse flaws in the game. As that is what the game will become if the game follows your approach one dominant setup abuse of short angles little or no errors . like said in the player balance update we the peeps who wanted the patch have to show 2K love and support so that they listen to we want instead of simply sitting back and counting our currency make their work on the updates worthwhile.

Like I wrote BEFORE... there are those of you that feel this is a great patch.

GREAT!

The fact is, the game is fundamentally different NOW AFTER the patch that it was BEFORE when it was released... AND when the demo was first made available.

Many people, myself included, try demos out to see if they want to buy the full game... and if they don't like the demo they don't buy the game.

Like I wrote BEFORE... this game is not representative of the original release... so I, and others, feel that we should either

1. Get a refund for the game

or

2. 2k reverses the patch and makes it an OPTIONAL download and not MANDATORY.

Number "2" seems to be a very fair solution to ME but either way SOMETHING should be done.

As for "Gee I think the patch is great"

It really is not material to my point at all... that's simply an opinion... and many have the opposite opinion including myself.

But the FACT is that the game is fundamentally different after this last patch and something should be done to appease the customers that DON'T like the patch since it's completely not representative of the game we purchased originally.

I'm only going to say this one more time: CLEAR YOUR CACHE on your 360 and it will remove the patch. You are then free to play the retarded CPU to your hearts content.

When has there ever, in the HISTORY OF VIDEO GAMES, been DUAL PATCHES released for a video game??!!? One patch for one group of people and one patch for another group of people?? I mean seriously, when has that ever happened.

If I cleared my cache as soon as I go on Xbox Live it re-downloads the patch... correct?

I'm constantly connected to the internet on my Xbox as I do other things besides play games, so that's simply not a solution. SO the only one left is to receive a refund from 2k... which is fine by me.

I find it interesting that no one can really comment on my original point that the game is completely different now than it was before and that those of us who don't like it should be entitled to a refund since the original demo was based off of the gameplay BEFORE the patch and we were essentially duped into buying a game that isn't what it was shown to be originally.

Do you not agree that it's fundamentally different?

Do you not agree that they've drastically changed the gameplay?

BTW who is whining?

Again can you not intelligently respond to my previous post without resorting to childish insults?

Perhaps that's above your mental capacity... if so maybe just don't reply if you have nothing intelligent to add to the conversation.

As for "whining" wasn't there a large group on here complaining and (perhaps) "whining" about the gameplay BEFORE the patch?

If people hadn't "whined" so much in the first place then there wouldn't have been a patch to an already fun game.

So who is whining? Is it me or is it you?

Bit of the pot calling the kettle black I believe.

As for "learning how to play the game."

I don't need to "learn how to play" it to know that it's not the game I purchased.

Again see my previous post and maybe try to understand it this time.

I beleive it gives you the option when you connect it says "there is a patch available for this game do you want to down load it ? if you don't download it you will be disconnected from xbox live"

So yeah play the single player and once you are done reconnect to xbox live.

Apparently the game you liked was filled with bugs .

One of the reasons you could hit winners was because of the stuttering split step bug that made your character unable to move sometimes , now that the characters move freely of course you are going to get more balls back.

Now about the refund , since you esencialy played the game for about 4 months the way you like it then how much back do you expect? a movie ticket is about 10 dollars and it's only 2 or 3 hours , how many hours did you play TS4 before you didn't like it anymore ?

In retrospect an Asian massage is 60 dollars plus tip , so I think you got your moneys worth .

This guy can't be serious, every online game has updates and patches. Just play offline. Go check, the patches won't be there, they are not like standard patches on other games. Ironically, I have a similar issue... the patch can only be played while connected to xbox live and my internet won't be up until Wednesday.I want to play the computer with the patch but I can't. After trying the new update I can say I appreciate the progress in improving the game for everyone. The future is bright and I'm sure this game will reach its full potential soon enough. For all the frustrated fans have a little patience and faith.

'IF YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO HIT ANGLED WINNERS, AT LEAST MAKE IT A POSSIBILITY TO WRONG-FOOT THE OPPONENT!!!
This is something TopSpin reaaaaaaaaaaly needs to work on. When I'm being completely dragged side-to-side, I feel the need to anticipiate even more, to ensure I have a play on the ball, so when the CPU aims behind me, I rightly have no chance at it. Unfortunaly, in this idiotic game, it's a one-way-street. If I run the computer back and forth, and decided to, along the way, hit one back the same direction, it ends up blowing by me before I can even react. I'm all for this whole less-angled shot thing; it gives it a more realistic feel, but SERIOUSLY guys, you have to at least give us a CHANCE to hit winners now :x I played as Kvitova (Offensive Baseliner) against Wozniacki (DEFENSE baseliner) and I was blown off the court because she hit everything back, and was impossible to wrong-foot, but she successfully wrong-footed me on mulitple occasions. I'm sorry, but players NEVER guess right, 100% of the time. Either give us this possibilty, or give us angles back, but you can't keep it like this...

No offense but how the game plays agains the CPU is almost totally irrelevant.

Extreme angles are still very possible even with not-so-great FH/BH stats. You need to be further inside the court than before and you need perfect timing. I think that aspect of the update is actually extremely good.

I don't know if all you guys play with the timing display still on, but I do...it really helps to know that you're timing the ball well, it reinforces that good timing...there's a big difference in shot quality between Good and Perfect

Man.. It's very hard for me to decide whether I like the update or not. I haven't played much online so I'm not really familiar with the glitches and such from before the patch (although I was aware of the excessive TI/MD combo.. ). Either the patch is good and people who dislike it are just limited by their own skills/imagination or it's not and those defending it haven't played to the right level to see the flaws... Or maybe it's not as simple as that..
