Do I have to understand that topspin serves are "prohibited" ?
I made a couple of these during my match (Furth tournament) yesterday, on my second serves. :?

Top spin serves are allowed. Where did you read the contrary?

Think he was probably reading those old rules for TS1....I think kick serves were banned in that game?? I dunno cuz I never played it aside from a few times at my friend's house and obviously didn't play it for ITST

I don't notice players slowing down when their stamina is shot or not being able to hit strong on a weaker wing.

Yep, speed really doesn't matter enough, no unforced errors, not enough penalty for mistimed shots (which ties into the lack of UEs), slice and topspin being overpowered in relation to flat shots, can't return weak serves as easily as strong serves. This game is so close to being great but there's so many minor flaws in gameplay that hold it back.

And the strong/weak wing thing is a problem too. Granted pros can still hit winners w/ their weaker wing, but it's not as prevalent as it is in this game.

i lost match match in the mexico challenger which i can live with what i cant take is even with the new rules people still find unfair ways to win my opponent juilen jackson had 91 fh ,91 on serve, 100 power low speed and given lacked of errors of poor movement as a result of having a low speed rating he is was able to exploit i feel guven his record 1-1 he wanted to win at all costs this now im bring this to your attention because given the ban on TI/MD and all MD coaches this setup could become the norm which i dnt think is right

Hi,
I'm just confused (noob), this rule applies to all tourneys right? Or is there an exception? Sorry I posted a question like this in the 1st rule change and had to ask this again. I just want to make sure. Also can you give an example of a character build that applies to the new rule change. What to add, what to decrease, what to stay...

Thanks so much!

Read the first post in this thread. This is a "Test" tournament, to test a given set of rules. It doesn't apply to the rest of the tour or tournaments.

Tonight I had my quarter final against patko7. My stats were the same as above, so no need to repost them. I wanted to take a look at his stats after the match, be he immediately left. I remember he had FH 84 and BH 64 and he could serve around 215 KMH, so I guess either SRV or PWR was a bit higher.

I won 6-3, 6-7, 6-4 with some epic moments. First set went by a bit too fast and the second set seemed to go the same way when I had triple break point at 2-2. Then patko7 started to use some more slice serves, which set up easy points. Since he is a lefty my backhand had to deal with these serves. As some already mentioned in this thread: With pros on the 2K Open it is easier to return them well. My allrounder has 64 PWR, so I had to hit perfectly timed returns to stay in the point. Just at 4-4 in the third set I realised that the best return is a cross court top spin return against this slice serve - that's how I broke him in the final set.

In tennis this is a reasonable way to set up easy points: Best examples are Federer vs. Nadal matches. At WTF Finals 2010 Nadal wasn't able to return Federer's slice serve to the deuce court and we all know what Nadal does to Federer's backhand. ;)

However, in real tennis the serve has to be well-placed in order to exploit backhands in such a way, whereas this isn't the case in TS4.

Before I forget to mention the epic moments: After I had triple break point (and one more after he saved them all) he held that game and broke me to lead 4-2 in the second set. patko7 was up 5-3 and he had triple set point on my serve - I saved them all. Then, at 5-4, I was able to save one more set point and break him. We then played a tie break and he was up 4-1 and 6-4, but I saved those two set points as well. I even had one match point at 7-6 for me, but he then went on to win the set - such an effort for losing a set.

The final set had less drama until I had to serve it out at 5-4: Match point for me, he saves it, break point for him and three good points later I prevailed, phew! In the last game it was really difficult to hit deep shots and create good angles - most likely due to the stamina, I guess.

hey you should make a rule that lets you go above 69 if you have a low power level!

Just had my match with Darth Luisito. This happened right after the patch.
I lost 6-4 6-1

Hawk
fh 80
bh 69
srv 70
vol 53
pw 64
sta 74
spe 70
rf 65
Poisoned slices, smell of blood

Darth
fh 69
bh 79
srv 74
vol 39
pw 82
sta 80
spe 59
rf 48
xp bonus, instant rocket (I don't know if this is right or a glitch. Darth will have to confirm, but yes that says XP bonus right there)

Hawk/Darth

1st serve%: 74/91
Win% on 1st serve: 35/54
Win% on 2nd serve: 13/100
Aces: 0/0
Double faults: 0/0
Winners: 28/47
Unforced errors: 3/4
Break pts: 4/5 8/12
Net pts won: 0/0
Total pts won: 36/61

This was an intense match. Lol, I'm glad it was after the patch or I would have lost quite easily.
Our strokes were identical, but in reverse. The main problem I had was his 82pw. He overpowered me pretty easily at times. That was the deciding factor in this match. He could take control of pts much easier because of his power.
Although it says we had 3/4 unforced errors, we actually had more than that. I made more than 3 errors, and darth made more than 4, but the game didn't seem to record it. If I had to guess, i'd say I made somewhere around 8-10 errors. Some which came at crucial pts too .
Fun match overall.

played my match against darth luisito right now, overall was a good match, but with the new patch seems that the game is more slow (instead happy for the more unforced errors :) )... the rallyes was long and it's difficult to make a point... in world tour online the difference it's not too much, but against a good player the thing are very difficult... maybe it's just to adapt to the patch, but that are my first feeling
