TS4 Courts: the good, the bad and the ugly

Postby Cro Morgan » Thu, 17 Mar 2011 15:02

Shanghai Palace is not good - especially when your opponent is wearing a black t-shirt. It's like fighting a Ninja with the lights off.

Cincy Masters: anyone else have trouble seeing the ball??? Half the time I was guessing in what direction the ball was going - after my opponent hit the shot!! :angry

All the others, so far, me likes.

About Shangai, why does it have Madrid flags as net posts?, at least that's what i saw in a vid some of you guys posted days ago
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

Maybe because it's a budget title in disguise. It looks like they have reused alot of element on the courts. Don't the Hong Kong-court also have the same flags?

Also, does anyone feel like the score box in the upper left-hand corner is in the way sometime? I sometime have trouble anticipating my opponent's shot when the player and the box overlap. the box will get transparent but still....Or just maybe I need a wide screen TV (i am still too cheap to want spend money on a new TV :)

Yes! I have trouble seeing the ball either in Cincy or Canada. That's how it was for me in TS3 too. I dread playing there..

I still have trouble seeing the ball on the grass courts, the masters and the grand slam ones. Just like in TS3.

Add this to the "Bad" list: Amsterdam Tennis Garden

Nicely rendered, but the lighting is impossible. It's like playing inside a glass golf ball on a sunny day.

Well its obvious that TS4 is an Xbox design ported to the PS3 just like TS3 and most multi platform games. The dreaded least common denominator phenomena. Can't wait for a tennis game designed specifically for the PS3 and Sony's stupid proprietary mechanisms that will take full advantage of its processing power!

At least we get full reflections on indoor courts this time around.

I think New Delhi is the worst.. might just be my eyes? It's a light grey brown court with white lines and low lighting. The ball seems to dissapear anytime in runs down or across any line

The other black court? Think its Chile? God darn its dreadful. The lighting effect mean there is no ball shadow so hard to see where it is going to drop. A small bit if the court is illuminated by a spotlight and its perfect, shame the whole thing isn't

yep, its chile. hated playing on it, lost a final there on career because of the shadows in the stadium.

and btw, the name of the venue, grande estadio de chile, is poorly written spanish. grande estadio de chile translates literally as 'big stadium of chile'. the correct name would be 'gran estadio' ('great stadium').

The shadow on the Dallas court always seems to be incredibly dark for some reason
