Chances of DLC?

Postby Nardy2010 » Fri, 11 Mar 2011 03:32

Honestly i dont have high expectations coming from 2kPrague(and yes true the TP 3 team closed down before releasing DLC so i cant blame them). But seeing as some people on here seem to have inside info i wonder do they plan on releasing DLC(new outfits, venues, animations, rackets, players etc) which seems to be the popular method in todays gaming era,or will they do a simple drop it and stop it approach??

There will be at least one DLC character: Vintage Agassi. They won't sit on Agassi after they're done serving him to the GameStop preorder people. They'll sell him via DLC. So, you gotta believe, if something is coming down the pipe, more will follow.

Bet you're right about that, and also bet they use that as some sort of gauge to help decide if they'll have more DLC - especially new Pros. If Agassi doesn't sell, I can't see them forking over any money for Dolgopolov.

According to 2K they have no plans for DLC. Just saying.

But Agassi via DLC sounds like a very likely option. But that's it. They also say there are way more clothes and other items in the store the previously.

Having players as downloads will be tricky, especially with signature animations and the fact that players are really expensive, the ones people would wont to pay for that is.

Plus the whole thing of Create a Player, it is a big feature for them and this is the part that gives longevity to the game. I think most players that will spend significant time with the game don't really need pros.

Anyone knows if 2K has done something like this (new player downloads) with their other sports titles?

They actually said: "No plan yet." "Yet" is a pretty huge word in this equation. My guess, they're just waiting to see how the game (and Vintage Agassi) sells. If it sells well, watch out, we'll have more DLC than we know what to do with. 8)

It's almost foolish not to have DLC these days. Even it just means holding out on something that was already made before the game was finished.

People aren't going to complain about a few shoes missing, but they'll buy them if you give them the chance. I don't know how many cars I bought on Forza, and only drove one time - cars that I had never even heard of, never would have missed. But it added something to the game, and it was just a few bucks.

 that's the thing thou, when you buy Maps for a game like COD, at least you get to play there a few times etc.... but buying 3 players and realizing that all 3 suck and you wont use them - is just sad.

I completely agree with you. In fact, a Spanish product manager of the game literally says in an interview that, although so far there is only one vintage Agassi to download, we should be alert because probably will be surprises with downloadable content.

Hopefully. I'm going to buy the vintage Agassi if that helps.

I hope if their isn't any DLC their is at least patches to any gameplay flaws etc. TS3 was basically "abandonware" with only 1 patch which all I could tell it fixed was the stick topspin serve
