Top Spin 4 Control-Mechanics

Ok let's talk a lil bit deeper about the Controls in the Game.

Some of you Guys said it brings a Advantage if you just tap the Buttons to hit Controlshots.

To tap means tippen in german and that means you have to press the Button only for a Shorts Moment right?

I did this especially in my last Match against the CPU and it didn't effect my Game positive at all.

If I tap the A Button for example a get ready for my hit, the Ball just flies slow (powerless) and unprecise over the Net.

Maybe you can explain the Controlshots a lil bit more. I can't image that they are hard to perform but maybe I am just doing something wrong.

This Thread is also created for all other Control-Secrets in the Game or things we don't know yet.

I mean I think the Top Spin School will clear the things anyway but it are 14 Days until the european Relase.

They should have implement the Top Spin School in the Demo.

You can only use the full Range of the Controls if you really know about it.

you have to tap just at the right moment to hit the ball. If you tap before the ball is within your reach then you mistimed your shot.
If you will, you have to tap the button at the same time you would have released the charge shot.

It's great for passes. Fed with his passing shot sniper, if the opponent is at the net run into the ball and charge about halfway, you will hit a quick deep pass.

Hm Guys I just tried it. In this Point you really see the depth of the Controlles because a perfect timed Controlshot is hard to perform. I mean really perfect not just good or to early or to late. And it's always a different timing because the ball doens't come always with the same Speed.

I just defeated Rafa with 7:2 and made few nice Controlshots, but one Match later I was 6:0 (6:0! I hate him! haha) behind and lost the Match 7:1. I mean I was trying something but it's really hard sometimes.

And you Guys wanna tell me it to easy on hard. Maybe with Serena, but even with Serena I lost one or two Matches yet and played probably 7. On the other Side it shows me that not Style is to dominant or unbeatable.

Seriously it's not absolutely the Case that it's always a Question of Skill it's more a Question of you doing something right in a Teninsgame or wrong. Because everybody from us here in the ITST have the Skillz to perform everything other Players do because it's just about Movements with a simple Controller, but maybe they just don't do it right yet and need a lil bit longer to understand some things.

It's always only a Question of time until you come the Point to be really competitive. The One does it earlier the other later, but everybody has the Chance to.

It gives you a little skip to the net. on Ts3 you used to run to the net automatially after serve holding this button, but on ts4 this seems to be not the case, you have to hold up on the analog too

I have at least one Offline Career and at first the Top Spin School in front of me to master all Shots in the Game.

And so soon I come online I'll be ready to compete. I mean I hope so. *lol*

it took me about 2-3 months to become competent in all of top spin 3's shots, and about 5-6 months to effectively serve and volley (i wouldnt go as far to say SV will ever be completely mastered!)

We'll see but the offline Careermode is a good Option to get in the Game and get a feeling for it.

The Onlinecompetition will be totally different ofcourse but we'll get used to it.

LOL  @ Digitalboyy

I find it rather easy to create angles and control shots in this game. Sometimes my timing gets a bit woozy :wee but I can usually pull it together.

I've lost a few breakers 6-8 (up 6-4), and 10-8 (I played Ivanovic against Serena)... but besides that I haven't lost that many. When I start rolling 7-0 7-0 7-0 7-2 then I'll let u guys know.

I'm loving the control shots though and Villa, the net is quickly becoming my new best friend. I'm workin on my slice approach and looking to come in after some angled balls... it's GREAT! lol gotta love variety.

Good. The more people that play the net the better.... was a chronic shortage in ts3.
