that's cool, i like this player a lot. Beautiful tennis to watch.

I am wondering why he wouldnt want to be in the roster? I guess he's not the most expensive guy to get and it would improve his own popularity.
I know they pay money to players to use them in the game but what if they only pay them a slight percentage of the sales of the game? That way 2K wont be spending money like crazy and could have a big roster. If the game is successful (and of course the same game will be more successful with more players) then the players get more money. It is often done in the movie and the music industry so why not...

There a bunches of guys who are playing Topspin 4 which played as pros challengers a some ATP tournaments. Not the big ones who i know but guys who are unknown players or players who are around 500 in the world like Daniel Elsner or Marco Mirnegg(which is a great player from Austria. you will hear soon from him in the ATP) or Clinton Thomson(a great german player who kicked my ass) a so much more. They are all playing TS3(some very good) but i don't know the big ones only much players who play ITF Men's Satellite tournaments but they play real tennis very good.

Nice!

No wonder... if tennis is your passion and you like video games then it is only natural that they play the games.
Do you know if they play at itst? I imagine they would be quite frustrated to only play World Tour and get banged by 100 stats characters players who don't know crap about tennis

anyway, even ranked 500 is amazing. I know it is such hard work and full dedication to the sport at the sacrifice of plenty of cool things that we, "mere humans", are enjoying. Most of the sports are so ungrateful if you cant reach the top of the game despite having talent... so thats why i have the most respect for them.

Do you Guys think there will be a Difference between a one handed and two handed Backhand in Top Spin 4 when it comes to Power and Accuracy?

All I read and hear is about things like 'Power', and 'Inside out shots'....

No-one seems to care or even acknowledge that real Tennis has ball movement in the air, so how anyone can call a sports game a Sim in the year 2011 that has 'straight' ball physics/dynamics is beyond me.

Hell, even Amiga tennis games from the late 80's had sligtht curve on ground strokes!!

2K Sports maybe have never seen a real Tennis match.

I am pleased with the Physics of TS4. You are talking about unreal Spins.

I watched alot real Tennismatches and TS4 comes pretty close to them.

If you don't like it then play Amiga Tennis or write 2k Sports.

Hi Sinna,

That wasnt a dig at you about your comments about the game, it was a generalisation.

However......how can you say, with a straight face, that the ball spins would be 'un-lifelike' if they depicted sidespin?

There is no way on earth you have ever watched, say, Federer vs Nadal if you cannot see the most exciting thing in the game, that of the ball swerving in flight, meaning the opponent has to judge where its going to land from its top spin/back spin tracjectory and also its side spin curvature.

No way is this game or all the Virtua Tennis games (up to VT3 anyway) depicting true to life ball movement. Its like FIFA 2011 having crosses coming in that fly straight and dont bend away from the keeper, or a free kick that flies perfectly straight.

2K need to look at what REALLY can make a sim, funnily enough if they add this into the game it truly would be amazing and immense.

Hm yeah People will always have Ideas how to improve the current Version but I am pleased with TS4.

There is always something to improve but some things are harder do realize than you may think.

And by the is the Ball not flying straight like a Streak ins TS4. The Physics are really not bad.

Look at Nadals Top Spin for example. It's great.

But the best you could to is to make 2k Sports attentive to your Wishes because we can do nothing.

and hi to you too Sinna!

It cannot be that hard to implement proper ball movement as Tennis Elbow is coded by one guy, yes, one guy and he has coded it into this game. In Tennis Elbow no shot looks the same, they all have varying top/side/back spin on meaning its 'organic' in the way it plays.

People all fall for the same thing with TS games, or look for things which are irrelevant.

As for Nadals top spin shot, yes, he looks good hitting it, the ball has good tracjectorys from a vertical perspective, but there is no side movement on the ball nor is he coded as CPU or HUMAN player to be able to impart side spin on the ball. Unless its his serve, when yes they have coded side spin into serves, arent we the lucky ones.

What I havent said anywhere on this forum yet is how great the game is other than my side spin opinion, and I would love to be proved wrong btw once the full game comes out, maybe 'DIESEL SLICE' shots impart side spin, we are yet to find out!!!

Your true but don't forget its a videogame a it has to be fun :) and thats what TS4 do, much better then VT or SCT. If you want real tennis go out and start smashing the ball :D

Lol,

Good point about it needing to be fun, but then if thats the case 2K should market this as:-

'Sim gameplay with not fully implemented but we will pretend they are implemented ball physics (whilst most people stay obsessed with the animation of the players themselves and not the all important 'fun gameplay ball!!') that needs to appeal to people who want fun Arcade gameplay'

You see, its either a Sim or its not. This game is sidespin away from being unbelievably brilliant, I have a build up when each tennis 'hyped' game comes out hoping for this and they all let me down, except those games coded by amateur teams or single coders (Tennis Elbow) which for some reason, hmmmmmmmmmm, tend to have these realistic physics AND are fun to play, pity they dont have the 'hyped' games teams behind them to include the graphics of TS4!!!

Surely my ball moving in flight dynamics would make it more fun!!

In real life its fun, due to all these things obviously being prevalent.

I'm going to Parliament to petition for this!!!

:D
