First one:
I got disconnected in the middle of a match! What happens now?
You should just continue the game. For example, if you were disconnected on 6-3 4-2 30-15, you just pick the game up again from that score. You can do this simply by allowing each other to hit aces until the same scoreline is reached. This is more easily achieved & agreed if you communicate with your opponent via the headset.
If stamina does play a huge role in TS4, over a long match a character with more stamina could simply win a match because of stamina alone. If this rule stays, then it can be abused. People purposely disconnecting late in a match to restart their stamina. I was wondering if this rule could be looked at in regard to TS4.
Also, another rule I was wondering about:
Can I switch players during a tournament or a season?
Yes. You can use as many of your created players as you want during a tournament or during the ITST season. It is completely your choice. You cannot however, change players during a match if your game crashes & you agree to restart it from the score. Also you cannot use any of the pro characters like Sampras or Hewitt at any time during the ITST season.
Switching players during the season, in between tournaments, makes sense. I love playing both counter-punchers and big servers so i'll probably use both, but during a tournament? In TS3 it didn't make a difference cause there was only 1 type of player to create and some stats didn't matter, but in TS4, assuming stats really matter now, could this rule be bad for the community? You could have people creating counter characters every match during a tournament. "My first match is against a bad returner, okay I'll go with big server/s&v. *ends up winning*. Next is emate, hmm he serves and volleys. I'll go with aggresive baseliner who is a good returner. *wins again*.....etc". There will be those who stick with 1 character during a tournament, but then others who's only quest is to counterpick. Ofcourse you could say that "if stats matter then the counterpick character will have something to exploit", true, but this takes away from the what makes real tennis so interesting. In a tournament, Djokovic doesn't look at the draw expecting to play Murray in the final, only to have Murray suddenly serving big and volleying like Pete Sampras. This way each human player makes a commitment for that tournament they enter, and they have to stick it out till it's over before they can switch. It aslo greatly adds to the realism, and mental aspect of things. If your return is bad, then anyone with a good serve later in the draw will be a nightmare, and you'll have to find a way to win that match somehow. You can't just switch to make breaking him easier.
Those are just my opinions on those 2 rules in relation to TS4. I was wondering what you guys thought?
