Can someone explain to me in detail how to serve with the right stick? I net all my serves, i put the stick down for the toss and then i don't know how to time the hit correctly! I am using Federer...

Try different timings. It's quite difficult to get used to, takes some time really. So push down to toss the ball, but don't let the stick go yet. Try timing it when the ball is at its highest point, or just about starting to go down again. Push straight up for a flat serve, which is the easiest to do. For topspin (rotate anti-clockwise) and slice (rotate clockwise) you really need time to learn it.

If you want to have fun with the demo now you might want to stick with the button serve, and learn the stick serve in the top spin academy where you will be able to see how your timing was.

It's ok, but I prefer serving with the trigger buttons...

I feel like you get a lot more spin with the stick, but maybe that's just because I suck using the buttons.

Does the amount of spin that you get depend on how fast you turn the stick, or does that not matter?

Stick does have more spin. In TS3 it did too, but this time the difference is bigger. Plus, somehow Nadals slice serve has MORE spin the Feds :? That I have no explanation for (as far as stats and game).

And, forget the speed gun..... Serena's 108mph serve travels faster then Rogers 128mph. That is great! ....it will really make it worth it to invest into a serving stats....I could get away with 50-60 serve on TS3 and ace people around.... no more. That is a big improvement. Yes, still the serve percentage will be high, but at least now, the Big servers will be big and the bad servers will get punished.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...

I hate Nadal already. I like him in real Life but he goes on my Nuts in the Game. He plays like in real Life. You get a good Simulation how hard it is to beat Nadal in real when you are Federer and if you play him on hard from the Baseline.

the Serve in TS4 is the only, yes only, part of TS4 that is correctly portrayed.

It depicts, if using the analogue method, sidespin being departed on the ball.

No other shot in the game has this sidespin and for the year 2011 and TS4 is an absolute disgrace, unless they have included it in the full game..........

Laughably, in one of the preview videos, the one about the coaching etc, it shows a player as being a 'DEFENSIVE BASELINE PLAYER', and one of the skills these players have is 'using defensive spins'.

Now I can guess what 2 spins to choose from we have here:-

- Top spin

- Back spin

Yes, of course you see in real life thats the only 2 spins a player can hit a ball with, the ball in real life is 2-dimensional like this game.

2K.....................2K......2K...................if only you could implement sidespin into the dynamics for ground strokes you will have produced THE best sports game, and sim, ever.

But you havent have you.

Again.

Yeah, TS 4 Nadal has some nasty short angled top spin shots in his arsenal. Those are crazy and I really wonder if we'll be able to hit the same ones with our custom characters. Maybe by tapping the top spin button.

Yeah seriously he hits these almost impossible crosscourtshots from defensive Positions between the Rallyes. It's crazy but he performs those Shots in real Life too.

It's like I said before. You get a realy good Feeling through TS4 how hard it is do defeat Rafa from the Baseline ( I mean how hard it would be in real) even if you have the Talent from Federer.

I still got a hard time playing against him on hard with Federer but I guess it is because I try to play his Game to much.

Nadal has the letters R-A-F-A on his shoes in reality and 2k didnt put it in the game! This is crazy. Also they talk about how deep career mode is and you can't even have dinner with friends and family in between tournaments, this is lame. I also wanted toilet breaks! I think i may not buy the game anymore.

hehe you say it. And what's with the australian bugs which fly on the Australian Open Center Court sometimes?

I need them in the Game. Otherwise I won't buy it.

lol, but things like those u just mentioned are obviously trivial as f**k, ball physics are not and shouldnt be left out in a game as high billing as this. As i said the game is great even without the sidespin but would be immense if another team could help the poor 2K guys out with the mathematics of implementing it...

Keep yourselves happy hitting everything and receivin everything in straight lines guys!!

funny thing is i recall TS3 visually having the ball depicting sidespin on ground shots on occasions noticable in the replays but 2K couldnt code it to actually move in the air 'due' to this spin. The ball flew straight whilst spinning. You couldnt make it up. Strange wind in the game too, 6mph wind and nothing affected by it.

I wouldnt go on about this is 2K didnt lie that these things are in the game. :P

I think I need to go and see a spin doctor.
