And Muster is back on the rankings, he's ranked 988 now :D

To achieve that he won in Ljubljana in the 1st round over #570 Borut Puc. He had lost in the 1st round in the previous 4 challengers, but now gained 7 points for the ranking. He was defeated in the 2nd round by #173 Di Mauro though.

how old is he?

I would have loved to see Nadal vs Muster, both at their 100%, i do think Muster could have had good chances to beat Rafa on clay.

Great video on hard against Sampras, his energy and passion are similar to Nadal's nowadays

Wow, the 90s had some of the best tennis IMO. It's not bad nowadays, but I like how well netplay and baseline play were so evenly matches back then. You could be far more creative than you can now. I don't wish for the nonstop serve-and-volley of the 70s and earlier though.

yeah the mid 80's to late 90's were the peak of tennis variety in my opinion. Even EDBERG got to the roland garros final and in all honesty, should have won. A serve and volleyer wouldn't get past the 2nd round today. There was a big convo topic when henman got to the semi's in 2004 and took a set off coria, and served for the 4th, and coria hadn't lost a clay match in about 80 matches. Henmans beating of chela in the quarters is one of the last great indications of what attacking tennis can do, but even at 6 years ago is already old, string technology has progressed since then.

It's great to have Muster back at the age of 43, but he can do nothing against Gulbis.
