No birds don´t scare me, but they´re just so damn WEIRD.
They´re the most direct descendents from dinosaurs remaining on the planet, and on MY chart they fit somewhere between insects, fish and reptiles as far as behavior and appearance.
There are so many kinds of birds though, that exceptions to any general description are plentiful. But look at a flock of sparrows or something small, and it´s just like watching fish swim. Watch a group of penguins, same thing. But a hummingbird lives like an insect. An ostrich is basically a mammal. A puffin is incredibly hilarious but somehow outlasted thousands of species.
Etc, etc, I could go on about birds for hours. And I might sometime later.
Those examples are just the tip of the iceberg. And even the common sparrow - when you look one in the eye, that bird will stare right back at you with the darkest eye in the world. BIRDS SEE EVERYTHING.
