Talk about anything related to the ATP and WTA tours.

You think I don't appreciate consistency?
Lindsay Davenport and Martina Hingis totally dominated women's tennis for a while, and they were probably the most consistent performers since Chris Evert.
And because they have few slam titles, people talk like they were useless.
I hate it when discussing with people and they get so defensive, they throw "**** has 7 slams, how many does Lindsay have?"
Yeah, she also has herpes.

What I meant was, sadly, at the end of the day, only titles matter.
No one cares if you are 3-times Wimbledon runner-up, IMHO, if you have not won a slam, you are just not HOF-worthy.

Well yeah, that was my point - only titles matter. Patriotism has nothing to do with it (OK, maybe a little because I identify with and share Roddick's attitude/sense of humor). The fact is, he's a much more consistent player year after year. I'm not sure he's going to be inducted to the hall of fame, but he HAS won a slam.
So placing him in the Baghdatis category is no good, and I won't stand for it! :P

 Same here. BTW - you do realize that he will be remembered as one of the best servers ever. His motion is unique and the power he generates and consistency.....I say 10 years down the road people will still remember him for that.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...

His serve is indeed awesome....nobody else in the history of the game has been able to hit 1st serves soo hard, and sooo consistently. That of course is what separates Roddick from the other big servers; his 70-80% 1st serve average (I dunno if that's really his average but it definitely seems like it).

Yea Roddick serve is one of a kind, and is not made for everyone much like the Nadal forehand lol ,seeing kids my age emulate it only to get tired after 30 minutes lol. But roddicks baseline game is not the best so that is probably the reason he loses to federer and nadal lol
Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm :P

Yeah people will remember roddick down the road. While he has only won one gs, he has been such a figure in tennis for so long. Also his serve won't be forgotten anytime soon. I still want him to win another gs, ie wimbledon kind of over fed winning it (I'm a fading fed fan now).

I'd rather fly completely under the radar (having won no Slams) than be widely known as a "One Slam Wonder."

i don´t like much roddick´s game, but i recognize and i admire that he has been able of adapting to several generations of players and to be kept in the top 10 , thing that ferrero could not do, ferrero could not adapt and accept that other players were coming, as federer, that they were going to be over him, and from 2003 until 2009 he won 0 titles, roddick has lost with a lot of new talents, but he has continued winning titles and being consistent.
Said this, ferrero is much more talented than roddick    .

I don't think people view roddick as a one slam wonder I mean he has been up there so many times that you can't really call him that.

Also it depends on how good you are and flying under radar. So you would rather be davy than roddick? And yes as good as davy is not many people know of him(well he is known more now after coming out of his shell). Anyway I love seeing rafa play well, mainly on clay so I really hope he doesn't get injured.

Rafa-djokovic final will be gold if it happens. They always have good matches on clay.

It's hard not to think of 'One Hit Wonders' when I think of 'One Slam Wonders,' so yeah, I'd rather be a no-name garage band than be grouped with the likes of these twits...

speaking of Billy Ray Cyrus,
regarding his debut album- Some Gave All,

Some Gave All was also the best selling album of the 1992 with 4,832,000 copies. Unfortunately the success resulted in Cyrus to forget to purchase condoms at the convenience store, resulting in the shittiest music since the spice girls.

Cro, it wasn't you by any chance that added that bit to the Wikipedia entry?

I'd be perfectly happy to be Andy Roddick to be quite honest.

He's been #1 in the entire world at playing tennis (doesn't matter how he got there...HE GOT THERE!), he's won the US Open, he has one of the greatest serves of all time, he's a very fair but also very tough competitor, he never gives up, and he's dating a supermodel.

Yeah sucks to be him.
