Gonna be interesting to see if that shows on the clay or if he gets back to title winning ways.

Nadal is not the player he used to be anymore, time will say what happens, that being said...in my opinion Andy played extraordinary well today, his forehand worked pretty well, and he has become one of those baseline players who commit very few mistakes during a match, and that´s a plus when he´s known just because he´s one of the best servers out there.

A.Ro: "I knew I had to be more aggressive. My heavy forehand doesn’t work against him, so I had to hit it flatter, which is higher risk... I took really, really ridiculous cuts at a lot of forehands. They found the purple part [of the court].”
I took a lot of risk there in the last two sets. I said it on the court and I've it said a couple times: ‘The best thing I can think of is I rolled the dice a lot and came up Yahtzee a couple times.’ That's what I have to do. My comfort zone of moving the ball around and maybe chipping it around a little bit doesn't work against Rafa. I had to try to come up with something that at least took him out of his comfort zone a little bit, and it paid off.”

BTW anyone has Roddick vs Soderling/Berdych in the final?

FUUUUUUUU. Every time I watch rafa he loses. It was pretty much exactly like indian wells. Roddick just went for it and rafa was a bit shocked and made some mistakes, got pissed and that was the match. First time I've ever seen rafa truly get frustrated punch his leg on change over and then said something lol.

Not much different than saying - at the start of the match - Roddick is 24 serves away from going through to the final." :stupd :stupd

Still trying to figure out one of Gimelstob's earlier statements: "Nadal is like Matt Damon in Rounders - trying to read John Malkovich's use of Oreo cookies."

He also never lets Leif Shiras or Robbie Koenig talk at all, he clearly thinks he's a 'bigshot'...also I don't know if you've ever noticed but he can't say the word 'strength' probably, he says "STRENF"

Just saw a german news magazine. Since the retirement of Becker, Stich and Graf, Tennis ist just a 3rd class sport here.
The media are unable to call Mr. Söderling by his correct name, they say:

"Sweden s ROBERT Söderling".

Christ Gimelstob is the worlds largest douche. I remember him being absolutely dismantled by roddick at wimby one year. He thinks he's had a career like Pete or Andre but he's not fit to even lace their boots.

Anyway, i would like to say Nadal was off colour. But after the 1st set, man his forehand was whipping good. It was just when roddick started to flatten some forehands and really crack them to nadal, he seemed to not have a 'plan B'. in the 3rd set roddick was Sv'ing with success!

i'd like to see nadal talk to somebody. something is obviously playing on his mind. i dont believe all this commentator talk about him "taking 1st sets then losing confidence" i think something bigger is going on with him. Hopefully though his game will recover for the clay season. If he starts getting beat in the clay tournaments then i dread to think what'l happen to him. But hpefully they'l be many more years of VAMOS RAFA! :D

I really wonder how anyone could pick Berdych to win. What has the man performed the last few years? His Indian Wells tournament was good but to pick him to win Miami? How big of a fan must you be then...

I´ve just checked that Andy has won 18 of his 28 ATP titles in North America, i find that curious because Roddick plays all around the world, i mean there are many american players that play mainly in the USA, or at least that´s my sensation, Blake for example. (i didn´t check).
Do you really think that playing in your country has a big influence on your game??

BTW i want Roddick to win the final, he seems like a nice guy

Hopefully Berdych will take it, as I have Roddick losing the final and not many will have Berdych winning the whole thing... 175th overall now with 119 points.

I think its important for every player to win in their own country. Growing up you watch the big tournaments abroad and you perhaps visit the smaller tournaments in your own country. You want to win those tournaments. I dont think any boy grows up hoping to win the SkiStar Swedish Open. Except when your from Bastad in Sweden.

Also, people come to see you. Some players crack under the pressure. Others can thrive on that extra dimension.
