nitoflament must leave the tour?

Postby nitoflament » Tue, 02 Feb 2010 03:00

Hi all, lately I have not felt very comfortable, I feel that everyone question my way of playing and my connection, and think I cheat every time I win. I joined this site for about 7 or 8 months and have reached the 12th position in a clean and ethical way. I played with most of the players on this tour and there are few times they have complained about my connection and way of playing, but lately after the game with Alex, I noticed that I am very challenged. I wonder, with as honestly as possible, if you think I should leave the circuit, because it really hurts me a lot to question my position as competitor. I do my best for the games are played well, I have a very good speed on my connection, but obviously there is lag and I know, but then to say it is impossible to play with me, that's another thing. For this reason, tell me what do you think and if I keep playing on the tour, and if you find it "imposbile" play with me. When I say impossible, I mean that you can not play at all. Beyond all this, I always felt like home and I enjoy competing with you because I got where I am to play against the best players, but in future it will not feel the same thing, every time you play against me and something happens, I will be responsible. Unfortunately this is happening to me in my best moment. Thanks all

I heard of the connection problems with the PS3.

The only thing I can say that it's not your fault. Just bad luck. I can't give you advice what to do. :-(

Nito, don't leave. You are one of the best players I have played against. And I've said before, I think you are top 5. You are a great player, but I do think that you risk slice too much. Is it annoying? To me and a few others, yes.

Does that mean that you should stop? Not if you don't want to. Play the way you want. As long as you're happy, who cares what other people say. It all depends on what you want from this game.

Play for yourself, not for others. If you care what others think, then yes, you should not use the risk slice as much. If you want to just win, then stay and play the way you want. I hope you stay, you're too good a player for the tour to lose.

3 things are certain in life: death, taxes, and lag. For lag there are a few things you can do:

Try to play when the connection is best. Unfortunately, this is usually at inconvenient times - late at night or early in the morning.

If possible, use a different service provider or upgrade to faster service. Call around and see what's available, you might be able to get something better.

You won't be able to eliminate it, but remind your opponent that you're dealing with it too. On the ATP they have to deal with wind, rain delays, 120° court surfaces - we have to deal with connection problems and sometimes the winner is the person who deals with it best. It's just part of online gaming.

As far as your tactics, that's up to you. If people are telling you that you play dirty, then listen to them and think about what they're telling you. If you think they're wrong, then keep playing that way you want. If you think they might be right, then think about a change - but don't quit because of it.

And as of today i wont be entering any more tournaments on normal tour anymore , its got to the stage people are getting scared to play their own games and are worried if they do they will get "bashed" on forums , i def have had enough cos its ruined my game on normal tour for def, I played a silly way against Mack2300 on Australian open because i was worried about being called a risker and it just was enough for me cos i didnt play the game i wanted , maybe Sim is a good thing tho

Andy, i always wondered why you changed your game around. i noticed you started volleying and trying different stuff. you also COMPLETELY went away from your high-risk style. i think this was a mistake, you are who you are. can't change it.

just play whatever way you want, if you're having fun on your end, who cares what the other faceless guy thousands of miles away thinks of your play.

Thats the thing i really did try to change it completely, I know 100 percent if id played normally in that match i would have won , and that is what really put me off 90 40 tour , that and the fact that most people slag it off now , but yes your right i did totally change my game , it might not be a bad thing but its frustrating because its not how i like to play ;/ but dont get me wrong its nice when volleys work :)) but def no more 90 40 for me im def out of it now

Ok this is my opnion i hope people respect that :P
I think if you ONLY use Risk shots it just feels that i'm not playing TS3 anymore, it feels like i'm playing a monster on the other side of the court and i can just stand there watching him eat me alive :P
Ur not the only one, lots of ppl now do it.
I like djarviks play cus its like 70% SIM and 30% risk shots altho i don't like wen im winning and he steps up his game and i lose LOL

I'm gonna change my game to S+V and will use slice to lure my opponant to the net to then get a easy volley out of it, is this cheesy? :P

Nito know what you mean, some people were disgusted with the connection, but are the rules. No wonder they called "International" top spin tour, there are times when the connection is good, and sometimes they are bad, so there are at least three days to play, to solve any problem. The important thing is to try, and play, is just a game. Never heard a player who has won and has complained about the connection. Many times I've played with some delay, some parties win and the others lost, but never said anything, because the delay is for two players and not just one. Greetings

I've never played you, but people speak highly of your play. It's like Rob says, though: everyone lags. Keep playing your game as long as you're playing respectable tennis, we're all here to have fun, and HOPEFULLY win! :-D ... if you can make your connection better, great! If not, that's ok too because everyone is guilty of it. I know I definitely won't be getting my own T1 line to play quicker XBOX Live LOL.
Norberto H or bust.

No lag when I play you Nito :P I only get lag when I have to restart my match alot. Usually instead of lag it will just freeze
Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm :P

I have spoken this with captainpetrufo, and already I said it to him, with you two the connection is not good at my case, but as already I said to him, it is a part more of the game online, nothing more, the two you are very good players and you should not stop playing in itst for this motive.

Doesn't say much for me then that you felt that you had to completely change your game for our match as you thought I would go off on a rant if you risked me off the court :?
I did say to you right after the match that I expected you to play much more aggressively than you actually did.
Just to clarify, I don't have a problem if any one risks, one of the guys I love playing against the most, Norberto, is probably the risk king but I always enjoy the matches I have with him.
