fedfan wrote:Wow just lost as Lorenz to Andmann666 as Cannon, he won 62 67 (13-15) 4-6 6-3 7-6 (7-5).

First set I served awful and went 2 break down.

Second I broke early but he got it back and had 3 set points on my serve at 6-5 but into the breaker we went and he led 3-1 when we disconnected, on resumption I went up 5-3 but it became an almighty dog fight that I sneaked out 15-13.

Early breaks for each of us in sets 3 and 4 decided it.

The final set was very tense indeed I was 2 point away at 6-5 30-30 on his serve but he survived and got an early break in the tiebreak that he wouldnt lose.

The final point was indicative of the whole match, very few quick and easy points, whilst I did not feel overpowered it was very difficult to keep the upper hand in the points as soon as I went for a slight angle or towards the forehand he pounded a winner.

I was screaming at the TV throughout and the loss really hurt, reminds me of my Roland Garros match last year which I lost in a 5th set breaker

Thats bad luck there, well played to andman. The sim certainly has made things closer, although cannon and bash have the advantage still, a bit of tweaking im sure will erase that, and it genuinely will be the player who is hot at the time, will win.

I think PSN will be a problem with these long matches. I got kicked out of PSN twice during the match and him one time. Our stamina was close so it wasn't a big deal but in other matches it will really negate any stamina advantage.

I disagree my backhand SUCKS i got no points on that really it was the forhand that won it.
So Cannon has weakness and also his speed is pretty slow and stamina ofcourse.

Whilst it was the forehand that did the damage your backhand held up very well, especially considering you had a single hander.

Slow you were not though, you got loads of balls back unluckily for me.

Ok but still if guys just have the quality that you have (The whole tour is pretty solid) then everybody should not have that much of a disadvantage :)
You did risk alot so that made up for cannon's power shots :P

SIM is definately more varied and generally competitive. Also I like the fact you know what your opponents set-up will be so you can try and have a gameplan.

With Lorenz I tend to use L2 on my stronger forehand and returns, because of the lower power I feel the need to push my shots to the lines.

Like I said though I didn't think I was overpowered as such and there were not a lot of easy service games for either of us so that made for a much more interesting match than I usually have against Cannon characters.

I'll admit I am used to seeing a load of Aces fly past me against Cannon that's all. You actually "played" the match rather than risk serve outwide and risk forehand winner.

That made for a much better match in the true spirit of SIM. It was a good contest wasn't it? I'm not taking anything away from you, you won because you were better on the day.

Yeah they probably get Aces because they have Federer serve or something my Roddick Serve doesent get alot of aces :(
Your serve was soo hard to break when you did a wide serve thats why im so happy i won cause i coudent return anything most of the time while you returned everything of me and your L2 shots were hard to defend :(

I forgot you were using the Roddick action, I think your the first player I have seen use it.

In the final breaker though you took a great chance on my lefty serve to the backhand and hit a return winner giving you the advantage, you found a big return at just the right time.
