had one with fedfan too today, at atlanta's doves me coming out on top 6-2 7-6, in a game with plenty of bp chance for both players, i took the early break and held it, fending off good passes and returns from fedfan and breaking again late to win 6-2, the 2nd set i lost serve early but was still getting in fedfans games, my 55 bh must have been well oiled as it was working like a charm, i managed to get a break back but fedfan became much more attacking and hitting good approaches, so i had few chances in the rest of his service games, me just about clinging to my own, i took a minibreak midway through the TB and held on from there. i wasn't happy with my 1st volleys, i was 'jamming' a little and was having to hit very many half volleys due to good returns, but i managed to hold on. i think atlantas doves is a medium speed court, i think on clay fedfan would definetly have the edge. but overall a good fun game.

Had great match with Burgrflipr today , our matches are always like super fast hitting and today was no difference   I won the first one but was lucky as he missed a lot of break points on my serve , we then played a second match but he had to go which was a relief as he was starting to clean my clock in the 2nd match lol , really fun matches tho :D

Not an exhibition but an actual itst match but I lost to a player with only 40 speed   Obviously, he made up for his lack of speed by having a great serve and being a consistent risk machine. Also, he played an incredible smart match by hitting so many floaty shots right down the middle of the court thus preventing me from being able to create any angles to expose his movement. I still felt I should have won though as I had so many break points on his service games but only converted 1 out of 8 chances. He only had 2 break point chances where both came in the final game of the match. Tough loss for sure :(

Had a great Fed vs Fed with nitoflament last night, at Thorsen Brom stadium. I managed to win 6-7 6-4 7-6, there was some amazing shot making, the only trouble i was having was the tiny bit of lag we had was making me miss some retard volleys so i had to play pretty much baseline all the time. His LT risks are deadly and i was just hoping stamina would become a issue with them later in the match, luckily it did and i managed to just sneak ahead. i had 11 bp's in the match but only converted 1, and nito had 5-6 more winners than me but around 20 more UE's, which was probably the difference, a couple of good LT returns in the final tiebreak got me ahead and i kept the lead, great match though it went on for about a hour.

heart-attack city.....2 great matches

Postby beltic caldy » Sun, 11 Oct 2009 00:04

First one - great ladies exhibition match with gianlucami - i narrowly won this 2-1, 4-3, 3-4, 4-3 - all three sets decided on tie-break.

Image

gianluca i think is quite a new player in ITST - beat me quite comfortably in mens ITST match earlier this week (i can't play without a skirt apparently..... )

Second match, again ladies, was against fella who i don't think plays in ITST - please correct if wrong - xbox tag backbr3ak3r this match was AMAZING!!!!!

Every point fought and paid for in BLOOD!!!!! I lost this one, 2-1 - 6-7(12), 7-6(17), 6-7(15).
I'm not comfortable (i.e. i can't do it with any success) playing with risk yet, 'cept on serve, where i tend to favour double-trigger serve - backbr3ak3r on the other hand was v comfortable belting boomers at me from anywhere on the court - lots of defending on my behalf...ultimately an incredibly close match.

I won half of the points on his second serve - sadly, he only missed 2 first-serves in the whole match!!!

matches like these two are the reason i love this game!!!!!!!

Just had another great match with Miss Silky. Narrowly won 6-7(18 ), 6-4, 7-6(7). Both firm baseliners - it was a really great match :D

No breaks in the first set - everything with serve, and the tie-break....gods...the stuff of heart-attacks - i scored the first mini-break at about 14-14....but Silky scored it right back - gutted....and went on to win the break.

Second set went with serve til 4-4 when i got a little lucky and had two break points - missed the first one, managed to convert the second - managed to serve out to take the set, thankfully without another heart-attack tie-break.

Third set was back to normal - despite putting Silky's serve under more pressure than other way around, couldn't translate it into break-chances - another tie-break was the result - with both of our players running on vapours, I got a little lucky, again, and converted the first mini-break at match point against serve. Awesome match Silky!!! Can't wait til our next battle :D :D :D :D :D

aye....thank you! without them, i'd have won 81 points....and been thrashed, most likely. Have played Silky before...matches always v close and v good.

The high number of aces in this case...probably more a result for tactical poker-style serving...placement....rather than big baghdad kebab/rob itst boomers....plus i like to mix the serve up a lot, keep opponent as unbalanced as possible

It still took a lonnnnnnnng time to figure any kind of defence against Silky's serve - halfway into the 2nd set before I was able to take more than a single point against serve....
