Played Mack2300 today on PS3 and won 6-7 6-3 7-5. First set he was strugling with his first serve percentage but I played a very poor tiebreak and he breezed through.

In the second I was getting into most of his service games and broke at 2-1 and held out.

In the final set all the games were very competitive, he broke at 3-2 but I broke straight back and broke again at 5-5 before serving out.

Undoubtedly when he finds his rhythm on serve in particular he is going to be one of the top guys, he only has a 40 stat on serve and it definately got better as the match went on. His defense was also fanastic, he got a lot of balls back into difficult positions, plus considering his backhand was 10 points lower than his forehand he seemed to hit a lot more winners with it.

He has a great serve. So many times he would force me out wide on the return and even though I knew where he would serve, I just couldn't get a decent enough return back in play, just easy set ups for him to whack the ball away for a winner. Also, movement just continues to be an issue for me. I have 80 speed but I feel so slow to respond(it isn't lag causing this I'm sure). Perhaps I just have to accept that movement is very differant on the ps3 compared to xbox. I am just used to retrieving like mad but I can't really do that here. Think I need to up my speed to 90 and lower my returns to 70 and beef up the serve a bit more and see what happens.
Thanks for the match anyway Coke. I hope when we play again soon that you will notice improvements in my game

Mack, give me a game and ill show you some retrieving

 I actually saw you online a while ago but you weren't playing Topspin so I left you alone.

Thanks for the match report Fedfan. I was annoyed with myself right after the match as I didn't take advantage of my break lead in the final set but you really turned it on from that point to the end of the match

Thanks, I know I am not the best shotmaker by a long way but I pride myself on being very tough to beat most of the time. I hadn't seen this earlier post but I really thought your retrieving was excellent today.

My triggers didnt work as i lost 6-4 6-3 to Coke today...

I was trying to play my normal game while he used his (new)SIM character.

I had to put up with hitting 105mph RT/LT+X(A) serves as my triggers failed to operate, as even though i tried risking 45% of the time, all my shots were hit as if i didnt risk at all

I really dont know what was wrong, cause using my ps3 rowser to type this message, i can safely zoom in and out using the triggers :? :?

LT + B should give you a nice topspin cc shot. I must say so far I find it hard to create good angles on ps3 compared to the xbox

Risking ahhh! Everytime i try a risk im normally fail. When do i have to release the button? Just like a normal shot or do i have to release the trigger and button or just button or just trigger haha ;)

I try to release the button when the ball looks like it's about a foot in front of your guy...you don't have to hold the trigger down, and you can press the button first, then tap the trigger, or just hold it down like I do. You only need to worry about when you release the face button (x,y,a,b). Also, you need to be kind of 'locked onto' the ball, or completely in balance, to consistently make risks. This is kind of hard to explain, but it's a feeling you get after practicing risks for a while.

Played Likos in an exhibition on the ps3 and he won 6-4 6-4. Awesome serving from him, in fact almost every one I have played so far has a superb serve. I broke to lead 3-1 in the second set but he responded immediately by raising his game and being more aggressive with his shots so there wasn't much more I could do at that point. I was really impressed with his on-the-run counter shots. I would try and hit a huge winner down the line only to see Likos breeze over and counter it with a huge passing shot winner  I don't see these shots on the xbox

I got to play a few minutes with mack before i had to leave and i was down 3-1. He was using his 4 90 guy. And i was using my new sim guy.

I am pleased to stay with him with me sim guy.

Me and mack got to finsih the match. I lost 6-1, 7-6. I pulled a norberto today, i taped the triggers and went at it. I was suprised by my results as well. I had 39 winners and 28 errors.

It felt good to unleash the power though

An improvement on my behalf! Played Coke lost happily 6-2 6-2 because i actually returned quite a few of his serves :) and my last score was 6-1 6-0 which was humiliating to say the least :p. He counters everything i play and he is very clever on TS3. I was surprised that he doesnt use R2 hes normal shots are like risk shots very good timing =O Nice improvement match for moi

Another good loss for a practice match 6-2 against Fedfan, I won my first two service games which does not normally happen. Then my next service game my timing was so of i stupidly df through it 3-2 then he won his next 4-2 then i had a great oppotunity for 4-3 but he converted at advantage on duece for him 5-2 and he then ripped me apart on his service game. Overall i was practicing L2 o and slice which proved to be okay for my poor risk timing. I hope to be in top 100 in two months :D

Good improvements already Fredz_x, keep it up. Better variation overall in your game, as you become more used to your character your consistency will definately improve I'm sure.
