Any hockey fans here?

Washington lost yesterday vs Montreal, a pretty big upset. The caps are favorites to win the cup, but it didn't look good in the first match. :?

Vancouver looks strong, I think they'll do pretty good this year.

Detroit = joke of a hockey city. They call themselves "Hockeytown, USA" but the simple fact remains that they would not have sellouts if they did not parade the streets before games with 10 dollar tickets. And that is with one of the best teams in the league, consistently.

For the record, the Red Wings don't have sellouts (even if there were $10 tickets). Why? Cause no one has a job - can't afford tickets. That said, when it comes to hockey, few cities do it better than Detroit (the city does suck at most everything else). The team ain't bad either: 10 consecutive years with 100 points or more (an NHL record, by the way) and too many Stanley Cups to count, that is, if you can't count past 11.

I've been a really big hockey fan since I was like 6-7 years old.

Unfortunately THIS SEASON I haven't really followed. The Ducks lineup really changed this year (for the worse) and I kinda lost interest and started watching a lot more MMA.

The Capitals have woken up now. They'll probaly win tonight and finish off Montreal at home in game 5. Their first line with Ovechkin, Bäckström and Knuble is pretty deadly. :)

Defense trumps offense in the playoffs, so I wouldn't put my money on the Caps. Fun team to watch though, that's for sure.
