Media Centre extender

Actually the title is wrong.

I am looking for something that can stream videos and music etc to a TV from a windows 7 PC for a friend of mine. But not with WMC

He doesn't own an Xbox. And he could just get one for the streaming . But the Xbox is noisy . Far from pleasant if you don't game with it.

I don't like Windows Media Centre. It is slow and can't play many of the stuff that Tversity can play.

So I am looking for a device that supports Tversity too.

Any Idea?

You just have to make sure file and media sharing is turned on. No software needed.

Yep. Look on here for the instructions on setting up the file sharing (click the "overview" tab):

It shows the interface when browsing your PC. It only has instructions for XP and Vista, but I know people use it with 7.

There are other similar devices, but I don't know any that will handle as many different formats.
