Actually it could be about 4-2 the way this game has gone.

that´s one of the things that should be fix in football, an electronic sensor should be installed,( like hawk eye in tennis), not too difficult in my opinion

FIFA had said no but I don't know why, it makes a mockery of the whole thing.

Doesn't even need technology, just someone on the line would do it.

What a **** scandal !!!!!!!!!!!! it's unbeleivable that in our time full of technology everywhere, FIFA doesn't want anything that might help.

It was so clearely in.....I think FIFA doesn't want technology to be invloved so they can still choose the winner before the match starts.
It's not my real feeling about that but what we way in French, the crime must benefit to someone, who in that case.....not the fan nor the players.
I'm supporting Germeny in this match but i go CRAZY when i see that kind of horrible shit !

Blatter is an idiot, he will just ignore it like he and Fifa always do.

Everyone will be looking for excuses, but our multi-millionaire superstar footballers just haven't shown up, end of!

4-0 Germany

Very close prediction!

Germany totally outclassed England today, in all departments. I can't think of a single German player who was below average. Germany took their chances (yes, they could have had more, but James was outstanding to save those).

Klose's goal set the tone.. Class player to stayed strong on his feet and steer past James.

Podolski's goal was calm and collected, wasn't easy from that angle. Great build up play / teamwork to get that chance.

Muller's goals were counter attack at best, against feeble England defence..

the main problem is that england don't have players developed for specialized positions like especially a true defensive minded holding midfielder who is disciplined enough and will stick to that position and not be drawn forward.
everyone seems to be in a forward thinking line.
rooney wants to dribble past players, gerrard attacking minded, lampard attacking minded, joe cole attacking minded, johnson and cole want to get forward at all opportunities. There's absolutely no cover for the counter attack.
Total recipe for disaster against well organized and disciplined teams.

If you absolutely must have a Gerrard and a Lampard in the same team, then for heaven sakes make Gerrard the defensive minded option of the two. He might not like it but he'll do a damn fine job for the team in that position. I mean look at how the german guy went past Barry for the third (or was it 4th goal?). Barry just doesn't have the pace necessary to keep up with that type of counter attack. On the other hand, there is no way on god's green earth that the german guy would go past a Gerrard who has determination, desire and the ability to foil such an attack.

I'm all for letting the players express themselves on the pitch. But to do so in the framework of a cohesive minded unit. So that when the individual flair does not work you then fall back to the structure of the team as a whole. England do it the other way around. :? but with no balanced team structure.
On today's performance, No cohesive unit, no structure, slow sunday afternoon 3rd league defending and acres of space in between for the opposing team to do as they like.

Going forward, I'd like to see what their world cup picture will look like in 4 years time.
No Gerrard, no Lampard, no Terry, and probably missing a bunch of others as well.
Things don't look rosy at all.

The last five or six years we had some of the most talented players we have had in a long time, but now a lot of them won't be around in four years time, at a time we should have been right up there we have failed miserably.

You can pick it apart from all angles but technically we are way off the best teams in the world. England seem to think we "deserve" to be world beaters but we should get over it and if players don't deliver drop them.

LOL Terry talking about the diallowed goal be a turning point, Lampard saying 4-1 did not reflect the game.

There both right it should have been 3-0 Germany in the first 20 minutes! Even so England had a chance to pull it back sure, but then blew it with their defense.

Capello said they played well. Wake up!

Germany had so much time on the ball.. so much space to make runs. They were confident in posession. There was a phase towards the end of the match where Germany must have kept the ball away for England for 5 minutes through excellent passing..

I don't think the defence or defence strategy is solely to blamed. If you look at Argentina or Brazil, they play attacking style (without the best defence IMO), but they always score. England's attack have not scored...

England only managed to score 2 goals in total against 'weak' opponents like USA, Algeria and Slovenia. A team like Germany would have destroyed that Slovenia team where England scraped by 1-0.

It's a shame that disallowed goal happened, because it has given England a perfect excuse...

Who knows, things could have been very different if it went to 2-2.. But we have to go by what happened, for the period before and after that, England were totally outplayed.

@ Sound,
Argentina and Brazil may look like they play offensive minded, and they do, but don't tell me that they don't at least try and plug the holes at the back.
Though I do take your point at Englands lack of goals, and just wanted to ask you on that,
why was Heskey put on that plane to come to SA?
