SlicerITST wrote:What a crappy match from Netherlands. We won but its apparent we need Robben back as soon as possible. At least we didnt waste to much energy early in the tournament....

i didn´t saw holland that bad-
mean i agree that holland created not much chances, but they controlled the match over most parts and they played against a strong team!! DENMARK!!
and DENMARK is a strong team , my co favorite in that group .
they have a good system with a good coach and good players
i´m sure DENMARK and holland reach next round-esspecially when you saw the japan-cameroon match ,and by the way this was the worst match i saw till now (and i saw all matches till now)

its true holland missed robben .there was no dangerous moments from the wings -and wesley sneijder and de kujit had no good day .but they win 2-0

holland is forward a favorite for me . esspecially when robben is back

@yippie cajay :
sorry i saw argentina not so dominating against nigeria.sure argentina had a few chances from messi -but i didn´t saw a team who played like a favorite (just my opinion).
this 1-0 was no big result and match at all
maybe this will change soon ,when i see the next argentina match against south corea.

@bloufo
i know and i accept different cultures.
all what i can say is....what you sayed before!! all this is true .it killed the atmosphere from this awesome event.
i knowed about the sound before -but i thought the singing and supporting from the fans is louder. but that you hear ONLY the vuvuzelas is worst !
maybe the FIFA stopp using vuvuzelas- but i don´t think so .
maybe 2 crazy guys are throwing a vuvuzela on a referee !! lol
thats the only real way i see that FIFA will stopp this .
whenot ..than we must stopp to discuss and learn to accept the vuvuz

just want to say that I agree with your views on the two matches you described above. So I'm glad I'm not the only one. :wink:

I was saying before that the defense of Italy wasn't gonna be good.. I just don't see them strong as they used to be..

I was surprise by the game between Japan and Camerun.. i was expecting a littler more from Camerun..

i couldn't watch much of the games cause this day was full for me... but im looking foward to see Brazil tomorrow :D.. they should win the match against North Korea easily.. 3-0 i'll say

I'm disappointed in netherlands. They were allowed to have heaps of possession and couldn't do anything with it. Denmark tried to pull an inter but were just a lil unlucky. Netherlands better get used to playing against teams who jsut say "there you go have ball but once you lose it we going to counter attack". Also japan beating cameroon massive shock that one, cameroon had so many close shots.

I'm pleased that we played crap, although I wasn't able to see the match due to exams :x
I remember two years ago when we beat Italy and France in excellent fashion, and then got kicked out by Russia...
It's good to have a bad first match, things shouldn't go too easy in the early stages so the players will be more focussed in the latter stages.

Even if it would be part of their culture, then let them only use it at the matches of South Africa...

But you live in south africa it your culture lol. I wish they could jsut allow it for sa games then we won't hear it much ;) I kid I hope s.a go deep in the wc. I really want to know what it sounds like at stadium also they should make it so you have to have a permit to have one so those who can use it have em as opposed to heaps of drunk people just blowing as hard as they can.

I may be living here but it certainly is not part of my own culture. :lol;
Mine is a Greek background. Thank goodness. :lol:

Regarding the vuvuzelas, I hear that they're also finding a home overseas.
In fact, there are reports that these blow horns are being sold at quite a high rate in the UK. So probably only a matter of time before they find their way to english football grounds.
Could you imagine listening to them during Premier League matches. :shock:

Also when host in 2022 our culture will be foghorns and beer bottles being thrown at other people and cars doing burnouts.

I'm talking of SA vuvuzela's that are being re-branded and sold in various countries.

“The vuvuzela is now an international instrument,” said a spokesman. “People will buy them and stuff them in their suitcases and take them home.”

England fans in the UK appear to be heeding his call; Sainsbury’s sold 22,000 red vuvuzelas – or “Vu Vu horns” as it brands them – in 12 hours before England’s game – one every two seconds. The supermarket chain has ordered 25,000 extra horns but thinks it may run out before Friday’s game against Algeria.

There were none left at Sainsbury’s in Emmersons Green, near Bristol. A few miles away in Chippenham, Wiltshire, half a dozen remained on the shelves.

Mike Brown was buying two for his children. “I could be making a terrible mistake but I think I’m going to have to make a rule that they can only blow them during the actual games. But the kids wanted them and I can’t resist it when they get excited about something like the World Cup.”

Amazon said sales had increased by 1,000%. David Broughton, from Northamptonshire-based company thevuvuzelaman.co.uk, said the country was gripped with “vuvuzela fever”.

“We sold 1,000 online over the weekend. Someone in Dubai has asked for 10,000. If anyone knows of half a million vuvuzelas lying around, they could get very rich,” he said.
