I think we made it way too hard for ourselves freaking pim and fail offside trap. That was not australia I don't know what team that was. Btw pim pulled out a formation which aus never played in with cahill as striker. Also we got stretched so much.

I watched argentina game and their offensive game was more imprsseive than germany's but germany has better defense although defense isn't strong point for either team but germany still more solid.

enyeama played absolutely crazy and messi was unlucky not to get 2 goals. Although both argentina and germany dominated opponents.

agreed..argentina had a lot of trouble in the defence, it's clear that jonás gutiérrez is not used to play as a wing back, and demichelis is playing aweful lately..

btw, germany totally surprised me, i knew ozil was good but i'd never seen him play, he totally dominated germany's game, too bad he couldn't score...and klose and podolski showed that in the world cup they are a totally different thing than in their teams (they both had a very poor season)...

i still think australia will qualify for the next round, serbia has nothing (vidic stankovic are not enough) and ghana may be the threat taking into account they are the "home" team, and they've already won

bloufo,jon, mean i knowed before from the annoying sound.i know its a very unique sound-the problem is that this same sound over 90 minutes is killing the real football atmosphere .
mean watch on youtube some videos about fan singing in football stadions and you know what i mean.
there is a totally different feeling during matches. here you hear nobody singing screaming bashing ecetera .only tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.

the atmosphere is all about in football.
meeting with friends,drinking,smoking,supporting a team..having fun ..
to got gooseskin from stadion atmosphere -
with vuvuzelas this is missing -
however......its a different culture
so......... we must drinking more to balance this and all is fine lol

Everything you say about these damn things, I agree 100% with you.
I guess I've gotten a little used to them over the years, but for the foreigners coming to SA and going to the various stadia to watch the games, it must be annoying as hell to listen to this noise for the complete duration of a game.

The typical and epic atmosphere of big football matches is totally gone.
I'd never thought of something apparently so insignificant ruining such a big event, but it's doing it.

Imagine watching a replay of Maradona's famous goal with the vuvuzelas buzzing at the background.

Yeah I said that earlier but not in those words. I think it's insane how something that at first seemed insignificant (I had never heard of these things but had been reading about them from you guys for the past couple weeks) is actually totally completely raping the atmosphere of the World Cup. I"m not even a huge soccer fan and these things are making me really angry that it's allowed at such a class event

yeah jay it really is a shame.
I mean all the people involved worked tremendously hard to get everything ready and in time for the WC. And they succeeded. But the whole experience and vibe of this WC is being ruined by these blow horns.
I want to say that maybe Fifa can step in at this early stage of the tournament and pass some kind of regulation that prohibits or at least curbs the use of the vuvuzela. But I just don't see that happening. In the past they've intimated that they would'nt interfere in this regard.

What a crappy match from Netherlands. We won but its apparent we need Robben back as soon as possible. At least we didnt waste to much energy early in the tournament....

Since the vuvuzela is a traditional type of thing with the black folk, they can't understand at all what the fuss is about.
The rest of us find it annoying but it's something that we've grown accustomed to over the years.
As far as the media is concerned, the official broadcaster- SABC, has not really voiced or aired any concerns over this issue.
The other independant TV channels(E.TV, DSTV) and most of the papers(The Star, The Citizen, The Sunday Times etc) have let this issue be more widely acknowledged and there is definite criticism for the way the vuvuzelas are being (ab)used.

So in other words, they're basically talking crap.

Perhaps we are a bit spoiled in the Netherlands but this wasnt a good match from us. The entire first half and large part of the second half we sporadically create chances.

Without Robben nothing happened on the wing which meant a lot of the attacks went down the center. The Danish team where having a field day with that seeing as they have a well organized defence. When Elia came on we finally had a player on the pitch who could take advantage of the space on the wing. And this lead to the second goal fairly quickly.

Holland played terribly. Van percie should have had 2 easy goals but dicked around with the ball for too long both times and couldn't even get à shot off either chance. He should be be benched.
The young guys who came in at the end should start from now on, at least they were trying to make something happen...
