Yeah man, I'm down with Jurassic 5. Their song "Red Hot" is one of my favorites of theirs...it was in SSX on Tour. :)

Yeah, I used to listen to Eminem too. He wasn't my absolute favorite, nor did I like all of his songs, but he had quite a few good ones. He definitely stood out, that's for sure.

Oh, not that it matters, but since more and more people seem to be speaking out about Q these days, I'd like to state for the record that I have no problem with him. I find it amusing that he's such a polarizing figure on these forums, because as somebody who has never played against him, he just seems like a nice, ordinary dude to me.

Update - did finally get rid of my account, took over 2 weeks from when I requested the deletion for them to actually do it. Just did a search on their homepage for my name to make sure, and it's really gone. Although now I'm shocked to see that so many people share the same name as me, and they're all hideous... :? :?

Honestly, no... I don't remember exactly where I found the actual DELETE link. It's not too hard to simply 'deactivate' your page, but that's worthless if you want them to get rid of your stored information since if you log in ever again it's like nothing happened. I was under the impression based on that article I posted early in this thread that you had to manually delete EVERY piece of data to be able to delete a profile, but apparently that's no longer the case.

Just deactivate your profile first, then dig around in the profile options for a bit to find the delete option. It took me a while, but it's there somewhere. Oh, and they don't actually delete anything until 2 weeks later, and if you log in again everything is back to normal, so prepare yourself mentally if you're a compulsive fb checker.

If you do want to just deactivate your account, I came across this pretty funny site yesterday to make a spectacle out of it, but be warned they only deactivate, not delete your profile: www.seppukoo.com

Wow, talk about timing, this is the first headline on Yahoo right now -

PRIVACY ADVOCATES SLAM FACEBOOK CHANGE

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20091211/tc ... 1211033403

This is the kind of stuff I worried about when I created this thread. Although it sounds like you can still keep your information private if you're careful, they're intentionally making it harder and harder to do so.

Not to mention what they share with their 'sponsors'. This quote is especially troubling for me -

The privacy change doesn't address the ability of third-party applications installed in Facebook profiles to mine data from the social network, according to the ACLU.

"Facebook's system now is if I am friends with you, I am friends with all the stupid apps you run too," Ozer said. "Even if your friend takes a quiz, they could be giving away your personal information.""

I found it!!
It's in the "help" section..."My profile"..."How to delete my profile permanently"...
I'll have to wait 2 weeks and then my profile will be permanently deleted! :)

I'm really glad I never started a Facebook account. All those kind of sites just creep me out. I know it's really futile to resist, but I really HATE the internetization of everything now...I just want things to go back to how they were circa 1994 before the internet had begun to sink it's teeth into the world...

To me there's nothing more futile than these kind of sites...
I mean it's like "hey look at what my red fish did today!",or "amazing matheja is Wondering when rain will stop"... :?
Ok about the international aspect of it...You can keep contacts with friends or family around the globe...But wasn't it possible before?...Now it's like "ok i put it on facebook and noone has no excuses for not knowing it..."
LAZY PEOPLE!!!

This is what eventually pushed me over the edge. All the privacy concerns aside, whenever I logged in I was bombarded by the minutia of 'friends' who I didn't really want to think about or talk to, let alone know what they thought of last night's episode of LOST.
