Am I alone in finding it 'odd' that John Higgins lost?

Talk about anything unrelated to tennis or the ITST.

I didn't see the full match, but saw the highlights (which was enough to see how poor Higgins was). Nice conspiracy theory to get us talking ;)

Robertson is possibly the worst matchup for Davis in the whole tournament

I like both really and yeah, like Sherlock said, the rules are very simple, especially comparing to tennis.

And isn't Foreman the guy who makes grills? :?

lol!!! yup, he's the grill guy now, but was one of the scariest, best boxers ever to fight (check it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WL7KnkWWXbQ&feature=fvw).

Al - if you can explain the rules of Russian Billiards in 10,000 words or less, with, say a maximum of 1,000 diagrams, I will fly to the U.S. (maybe catch a boat actually...not sure which way the wind is blowing today...) and be your man-servant for a whole month

I love the look of it...but I haven't time to do another PHD......

Lets put it this way: if you never played it and played snooker only - you are in for a VERY frustrating time  I bet you will struggle to put 1 ball in a hole for a few hours.

But once move back to snooker, you will be God.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...

froody!!! i play 3-ball english billiards, and i've played the european jobbie where the table has no pockets/holes....and only 2 balls are used....best snooker break = 97 (missed a pretty easy brown for first and only ever 100 break). Loved the game (billiards style games) since childhood....a time many, many moons ago - and aye, I DO find after a game which focuses your white-ball play (any of the billiards variants really), there is a god-like (perhaps MORE of a god-like element...hur hur hur..!) element to my positional play.

mmm......any game ya can name, for any amount ya can count, eh?!

thanks for posting the vids beltic caldy.
i must go first a little more into the rules before i can say more .
you can play with every ball ?
what i saw in vids - it looks not so difficult at all.
maybe the rules are more difficult than the game himself??
but maybe i´m wrong
i must leave now my home - i will look later into the rules (djarviks wikipedia link)
i´m really interrest to go deeper into russian billiard
