You're asking the worth of the game in a brand new condition as opposed to your having opened it and played it?
The worth of sought after factory sealed games is quite substantial over that of a used copy.

I'll give you an example:
I've got a brand new never opened 'Panzer Dragoon Saga' for the Sega Saturn, and also a mint but used copy of that game.
The used copy goes for around $150-200 and the factory sealed one can easily fetch upwards of $600+

for that you need a released ps3 game with 20-100 exemplars.
than maybe in 10-20 years you got 200 euro .big deal .

today gaming is much more popular - so its not that easy - also you can´t plan which game will coast in years more money

I know for a fact I had 'Atlantis' for Intellivision (well it was a 2600 game but IV played 2600 games)...no idea if it was 1 or 2 but it was pretty awesome.

You're from the States, right? and so you bought the NTSC version of the game?
I ask because there are some pronounced differences between the PAL and NTSC versions.

Yes, it was the NTSC version. I'd heard that they put a bit more polish on the PAL version, even including a lightsaber? :? ??

But I don't think the things you mentioned would have made me love it as much as the hardcore fans do. I guess the best way for me to say it is that: I liked it as an experience much more than as a game.

I played SotC (top 3 games all time for me, and the reason I bought a PS2) many times before I started hearing the comparisons and connection to ICO, so I tracked down a copy. I think that might have been part of the problem. While I could immediately see similarities, the game is a totally different style of play. And what bothered me was not the concept of the game, but the gameplay itself. Combat boils down to slapping a bunch of ghost zombies with a matchstick over and over. Your only companion has the intelligence of an inbred dog (which may have changed for the better in the PAL based on your comments) and appears to be reanimated based on her skin tone. So while I recommend it to people who like Ueda's direction and style because the art/scenery and emotion/character development are all superb, it's very deserving of the niche title status it has.

Damn I used to have FF VII. Sold it for a lot less than that, wow...

I know it's not exactly a 'rare' game but have you ever played Bushido Blade for PS1?? I've had that game forever and just started playing it again recently...it's awesome!!

Also I don't know if anybody's played Tobal no. 1 but that game is awesome as well, also kinda rare/not really popular

Nope haven't owned or played either Tobal nor Bushido Blade.
But I do own Kengo: Master of Bushido for the PS2. It's kinda fun but it's definately been awhile since I last played it.

Both games were kinda innovative in their own ways.

Tobal eschewed textured graphics in favor of flat-shaded polygons, to get it's incredibly-fluid-for-it's-time 60 fps. It was also Square's first fighting game, and included a half RPG/half fighting game 'Quest Mode' that was really fun.

Bushido Blade was a samurai fighting game set in feudal Japan, that was pretty unique at the time for it's lack of a health bar and completely open 3D environment with virtually no borders to speak of, also in the 'Story' mode it required that you fight under the samurai rules of honor, i.e 'bushido', that basically dictate that you can't hit an opponent who is laying on the ground or trying to get up, and you can't stab somebody in the back who's trying to run away. You can win the 1st couple of fights with those techniques but after the 4th or 5th win you will get a very abrupt ending saying that you fought with dishonor or shame or something  It's a great game

Man sells old video game for $31,600 after reading CNN.com

While reading a story on this site about rare video games, Tanner Sandlin of Austin, Texas, recognized one of the games -- Air Raid for the Atari 2600. He found the thirteenth known copy of the game in his garage and put it on eBay.

It sold last Sunday for $31,600, the second-highest price ever paid for a video game.

The whole story...
