The quake, the seventh strongest earthquake in recorded history, hit Chile Saturday and should have shortened the length of an Earth day by 1.26 milliseconds, according to research scientist Richard Gross at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.

In that case they should shorten colleges by a millisecond.

But is there someone that can explain this quote to me?

One Earth day is about 24 hours long. Over the course of a year, the length of a day normally changes gradually by one millisecond. It increases in the winter, when the Earth rotates more slowly, and decreases in the summer, Gross has said in the past.

Yea. It will be so bad that no one will have any where to turn too for help within these earthly governments. Concerning when the end of this system of things will be cut-off, no one knows her on earth.

It is a good thing for hope though.

May i ask you what you're talking about here?...Do you think all this will help some religions? (Hope = Faith)...Or do you say that all this will just make us hope for better days? (with no religions included,like "i hope it will stop raining")
This sentence shocked me a bit...How can you say "it is a good thing"?

Honestly though I don't think Q meant anything religious by 'hope'....'faith' carries connotations of religion in English but not 'hope'....I'm not really sure what Q meant either, just your typical empty Q-sentence, but he's not talking about religion.

No,no man...It wasn't against anybody...(well,except the "it is a good thing..." stuff) I was just laughing at the idea...I wasn't saying any of those who wrote here were into that 2012 thing...
