Chris Broussard said on ESPN Friday that a big reason that LeBron James didn't sign with the Bulls is that they didn't offer enough perks for LeBron's family and friends. One of LeBron's buddies was hired by the Cavaliers and he wanted his entourage to be able to travel on the Bulls' tab, but the team, according to Broussard, said 'we didn't do that for Michael Jordan, so we're not doing it for you.'

The guy is a self-absorbed jackass.

^ Yeah, that's pretty much how he comes off, just like most other highly paid professional athletes. I mean, I understand why he has such an ego - he's only 25 and he has countless people bowing down to him in worship all the time, telling him how great he is, and throwing large sums of money at him - but I still don't like it.

You guys have summed up my thoughts on this whole thing pretty well already. I was never a LeBron fan, and I've thought that the whole "King James" thing was ridiculous from the get-go.

Him going to Miami with Wade and Bosh highlights a big reason why I don't follow the NBA anymore...it seems like most of the teams just don't have an identity these days. Instead of being patient and trying to build a team with chemistry that will contend for several years, they blow up their roster and grab a few superstars (and random former stars for their bench) to try and win a championship immediately. They may or may not succeed, and it eventually all falls apart and they completely and utterly stink. Don't get me wrong, I was happy to see my man K.G. finally win a ring in Boston, but he was the exception to the rule.

I agreed with what Charles Barkley had to say in this video, for the most part anyway:

For anyone interested, you should read this blog article about how LeBron has indeed tarnished his name, but also how he has been used by those around him.

In my opinion, LeBron is a decent person with a strong desire to win, who has been twisted by his friends. The sooner he gets rid of them and starts becoming his own person, the better he will become. I was a fan of LeBron because of his desire in the past, it will take this extreme measure for me to again cheer for him.

To be fair, he has always wanted to play with Wade and Bosh, so he shouldn't be criticized for that.

@MisterGregory: being from Minnesota myself, I appreciate what you said about KG. I was honestly glad to see him leave Minnesota and again to win in Boston after having his heart cut out so many times here with my hometown team. The situation was indeed entirely different than with LeBron, because it was obvious KG always gave everything he could to Minnesota, and only left when it was clear the team was no longer looking to win. I have since never watched a Minnesota basketball game, despite basketball being the biggest sport in my life for 10 years. I now only enjoy watching players: Bryant, Wade, LeBron, and the Celtics (okay one team, but mainly because of KG). I do not cheer for my team.

Hey, I didn't know Kanye West was there for LeBron's little TV show...now it all makes sense! On second thought, I think I might like the new, evil LeBron...or should I say, LeBronye?

The pic is from this article, which I found pretty amusing.
