Just to get an idea really - most of my friends are neither iPhone nor Blackberry fanatics...

Woops, left out option for nokia/symbian...apologies - I sported an n95 myself for a while.....amazing camera, too much crammed onto phone made it too slow to use, for my money - not used your model, but aye, bears more than a slight resemblance to curve/bold - overall pleased with it or?

Very pleased with it actually. I wanted a simple, no nonsense phone and Nokia E63 is just that. Decent size (not too big or too small). Camera is not great, but that's not a problem for me.

Put me down for two:

Basic mobile/cellular and communication is overrated.

I find it funny that not long ago there weren't cell phones, and now, you have people walking around the grocery store with a bluetooth jammed in their ear. Like they can't go get a gallon of milk without risking a missed phone call. Egads.

Please add the Nokia option cause im using a Nokia N900. My personal opinion is that its one of the best smartphones around. The best thing about it is the full web browser. I can see and navigate through the full version of every site. So no bad mobile versions. And it feels very intuitive to use.

So when im shopping for food i love to go online and check what kind of milk i should pick :P.

aaaarrrghhh....doesn't look like i can edit the poll.....sorry! Slicer, how do you compare the experience of iPhone browsing with your Nokia? I know all about the absence of flash and certain other issues with the iphone....thats not what i mean - i mean is it quick - do pages render well - options and pull-down menus and stuff - these all work very well? The blackberry was really really dreadful in this respect - ITST page, and Wikipedia...just about tolerable.....on the iphone, there's not even a comparison really.....it just seems so so much better - perhaps i've been through the desert on a horse called 'bold'......

The N900 uses an app called MicroB. Its based on Firefox. This means that every page on my n900 will render identically to when you would visit it on your pc with FF. Pulldown menus are integrated nicely. You just tap the pulldown menu and it creates a new popup menu with all the options in it but much larger. Seeing as the N900 can multitask this is not a problem.

Check it out how it looks and if you think its quick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aIv36FB ... _embedded#!

Aye, brand loyalty-inertia...!? Lol! Just kiddin' about. Nokias have always been strong - for me, the n95 was a bridge too far - amazing device long as you're not in a hurry

  Nah, the phone before the N85 i had was an LG 8) IT was good aswell tbh. I just wanted a better one, being a teenager and all

I liked the N85, but after a couple of years it started to slow right down from being dropped so often, same happened to my N95
I always wanted to continue on the nokia way however, because it nice to get an upgraded handset and already have a good feel of how it works

mobile phone

Postby DMG100 » Mon, 28 Jun 2010 06:11

currently a windows mobile user(HTC HD2), did own a G1 and i am missing the hell out of my Android phone.

it is a faster phone, that processor is pretty cool. the camera is great. beautiful screen. But apps cost an arm and a leg. and the phone isn't interesting anymore once you get tired of HTC's Sense software that cover's up MS's boring-ness lol. there's no other way to describe it.

Android has a growing amount of apps. Currently looking at the Nexus One, it's just that i love a standard keyboard, not the onscreen keyboard, which isn't so bad on the hd2. the keyboard on the G1 made the phone more functional for my personal use tho.
