Our Tennis Thread

I thought it would be cool to have a single thread where we can discuss our tennis styles, talk about great matches we had or ask tennis questions or for tips instead of lots of tiny threads.

i am trying to go back to semi-western fh grip, i started using western a couple of years ago, but i think when i started playing tennis i played a lot better with an eastern grip.

I'd go along with a 4.5-5 for me on the american system, but for example depending on the surface i'dd pretty much exclusively serve and volley as serving and volleying is my best attributes, while my backhand return is sometimes a weak point, especially on clay as i have a 1HBH and am only about 5'11'' and cos i'm not richard gasquet its hard to hit balls off my shoulders lol. i also switch grips- i use a continental on grass (yes i know before you say :P) and a semi western for everything else.

comment your setup guys (racquet, strings, tension, shoes...whatever) and post some videos.
I'm looking forward to demo the new Dunlop Biomimetics racquets.

Well I dunno if I have any pertinent videos to post, but I use a Dunlop Aerogel 200, Luxilon TIMO 17g strings at 52 lbs, blue/yellow Adidas Barricade V's, and I'm a solid 4.5 player. :D

I currently use the Wilson Kblade 98. I love the control i get with this racquet, but ive been getting some elbow problems lately.

anybody know of a similar racquet to this one, except lighter?

before changing your racquet to a lighter one, try to change your grip size, most elbows problems are caused due to a wrong grip size choice, i'm saying this based on my own experience and because Toni Nadal told me that (no joking).
No doubt that if the weight is "excessive" can cause pain in your elbow and shoulder too.

Babolat Storm comes to mind right away, but it's not THAT much lighter... Most rackets under 100" are over 10.5 unstrung, you'll have a hard time finding one lighter than that with the same headsize.

that's true, i found this Dunlop though

Dunlop Aerogel 4D 300 Lite: 98" and 10 oz

I would never RECOMMEND such a light racquet btw, unless you're a junior. You can use a 11-11.5 racquet, with no problem at all. Different story if you have a chronic injury.

Check your technique also, or post a video. Sometimes a few little adjustments can go a long way.

Xavi is right also, try a size smaller grip.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...

Im 4 sometimes 3.5 if I play really bad and 4.5 if I play well

Im right handed, two handed backhand

My racquet: Wilson BLX Six One Tour

My weapon: by far the serve, it is pretty prescise and powerfull but is not very consistent I often do maybe 8-9 double faults in each matches :P
My speed is very good too, maybe my 2nd best, and beetween forehand and backhand, my forehand is better, not increadible but can hit really good winners som times :)

Oh I forgot: Pretty bad stamina :(
