The round-robin format doesn't generate any significant level of interest. How can it? I mean, a player can lose a match and still win the tournament. Say what?
Outside of the hardcore tennis fan, the only people interested in this season-ending tournament are, well, no one. If no one cares, something is wrong.
The idea of the Word Tour Finals is almost as bad as the Davis Cup format. Almost, because nothing is as stupid as the Davis Cup.
If the ATP insists on having season-ending event, a better idea, open it up to the Top 16 players - then throw them into sudden-death brackets, like a normal tournament. Granted this normal-like tournament wouldn't be unique, but at least it would be worth watching.
Professional tennis is run by brain-deadiots.
