Roger back up to No.2 as well. Those are two energy sapping matches so hopefully he can recover for today. On one hand it was worrying he went off the boil after seemingly being in control after the first set of both matches but great to see the competitive fire still there when it got tight.

Didnt watch his match v. Nadal, but heard off a lot of people Nadal wasnt there, which seems likely as he has been struggling all tournament. If this is the case, 6-3 6-4 against a poor nadal on hardcourt is a poor result.
I did watch his match v. Nalbandian and didn't think he played too aggressive, he played a few aggressive points, which is easy to do when your a set and a break up.

Nadal is playing this perfectly - with both eyes on the US Open title. Wouldn't surprise me if he did nothing but eat pizza and drink beer since Wimbledon - with the intent of losing his shape - then later peaking (for a second time) at Flushing Meadows.

Awesome start by Murray, climbing all over the Federer serve and looking to dictate.

EDIT: Fed started to find his range and both breaks recovered 5-5.

Winning would be pretty important for both at this stage of the year, but a loss would be a lot more of a blow to Murray, especially after leading 3-0.

Andy gets the first set, i kinda like his style i know there`re lot of Murray haters, but honestly this guy has talent, he can defense as the best Nadal, has a good serve and can attack with his good backhand, a pretty complete player

I always thought the murray serve was very 1 demensional, i knew where more or less every serve was going in his wimby sf against nadal

well ok, not the best server, that's true, but in my opinion his 1st serve is quite decent

His first serve is one of his few big weapons, too bad his second serve is so pathetic.

His first serve percentage, is the most important stat for him, because even at his worst he won't hit that many errors and when he's at his best he won't hit that many winners. (In comparison to other players), but when his first serve percentage is high and he hits first serves on most big points, he is nearly unstoppable.
Work me a boss.

A first serve where you struggle to make 50% most matches is more of a liability IMO especially when the second delivery is so weak. Off the ground though Murray was hitting the forehand well early but Fed is not playing from up on the baseline like he should.

Murray wins in straights, great level the whole week, can't believe i'm saying this but Andy is becoming one of my favorite players.
