the possibility of an all swiss final is quite appealing. plus it would mean my avatar bet with Cro would be validated

Federer was looking pretty good. Nice to see him getting depth on his backhand. Might make it tougher for Nadal to break it down.

EDIT: Admittedly, Murray was nowhere near peak fitness, but that was to be expected.

Man, ugly move by Ferrer pushing that line judge.

I know it was with no intention to harm him, or anything like that, but it was ugly and disrespectful. And disappointing, too

Alright tonight is the night of rafa vs fed. Any predictions?

Call me biased but I'm feeling roger in 4. 6-3, 5-7, 7-6, 6-4

Nadal has a hole in his left hand!

Should Federer reach the final, I wonder which player Lüthi would root for.

Hard to pick between rafa and roger. Can his new racket handle that high backhand better or can he step up and make the backhands lower? And can roger play aggressive enough to not allow rafa to stand 15 feet behind the baseline? Rafa comfortably 15 feet behind the baseline defending and constantly gets ahead in the rally by hitting cross court forehands...rafa all day under those conditions.

Problem is that Roger has a "hole" in his confidence when he plays Rafa (excepted indoor)... Which hole is the deeper ? We'll know that tomorrow  .

speaking of indoor, there is an 80% chance of rain during the match…. so the possibility of an indoor match is there

Oh man, this is a though semis. Rafa Vs Federer!! You know if it was 2 yrs ago.. I would say Rafa would win for sure!
but we all know how well Roger has been playing. Rafa has the better defence but Roger has the better all round game.
I'd like to see a all swiss final. But if I'm complety honest I'm betting on Rafa to take Roger out in 4 sets. Wawrinka deserves to win AO after knocking off Novak. But I think Rafa will win imo.

Federer in straight sets

On a serious note keeping previous years in mind federer might win first set and lose next three but I m optimistic. the opposite of it is possible as well. Federer beating rafa in 4 sets.
This is the the first time in history of Australian open that federer has been broken only twice before semi final match. This is the least he's been broken ever before reaching semis. He's been serving great although still not hitting that many aces but he's getting a lot of points on his first serves. Above all his backhand is better now. Haven't seen his backhand working this well since 2011 french open semi final against novak. Hope he beats rafa tomorrow. It's been 6 years now that he defeated rafa in grand slam. (Wimbledon 2007)

It'll be interesting to see Federer's tactic against Rafa this time, no doubt that along Edberg they have thought about something new to do against Nadal, no sense to keep playing like always because most of the times he's the loser guy.
More net game??
