Even though the conditions are obviously going Federer's way with this match (I mean he's handling the wind better), I think they need to do something at the US Open about the swirling wind. They need to fix whatever design flaw makes this happen because windy matches are just lower quality matches.

Nice done by Söderling.

Soderling being disrespectful...nothing new, someone should teach him good manners, and btw he should be fined for that
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

Well, apparently the ump screwed him. Or Soderling thought the ump screwed him. Either way I can kind of understand it...he was frustrated and losing sucks big time, especially when you blew a few golden opportunities like Soderling did.... he's an emotional player and he's always gonna do little things like this it doesn't really mean he's a sore loser.

Well... yeah, it does? I didn't see the match so I don't know exactly why Soderling was upset with the ump. Bad calls happen, but hawkeye fixes most of them.
If you lose in straight sets, you probably would have lost with or without 2 (or 5?) bad calls.

"Emotional" is no excuse for being a douche, whether you DESERVE to be a douche or not.

He was upset because he had a break point and the line judge called Feds forehand long, fed challenged and it was in.

Instead of replaying the point because soderling was in position to hit s other shot. The umpire gave the point to fed. That would be why he was mad.

Bad, but not match defining. It's not like he would have for sure won the point anyways, right? All I'm saying is pros should be used to dealing with this. I like Roddick a lot, but he's a total asshole in these situations as well and there's no excuse for it.

When did this happen? Mid to late 3rd set I'm guessing?

I really hate some of these commentators, anyone else hearing this on the Wawrinka and Youzny match? It's unbearable, really.
