Well deserved by Nole to be No.1 and there is plenty more up for grabs, not only the Wimbledon title but the US hardcourt swing to come where he will be the one to beat.

Nadal is going for a bit more than he has been doing on the first serve and looks a bit flat at the moment. Murray playing well, dictating a lot of points but he cannot afford any lapses and must take advantage.

Nadal: "Andy is the best player i've faced without a GS title"

Good day for the WTA with Kvitova's win earlier today.
Great to have such a nice non-shrieking champion.
Also, this is no Pushniaki. Kvitova has some serious game.

Yes don't speak too soon but he WTA could have a potential No.1 who can dominate. Shame for Sharapova she just could not rely on her serve, but she has come back to a higher level than I thought she would 12 months ago.

Did anyone else see the statement by Wimbledon about the shrieking? Something about how it could be considered a hindrance, and could result in penalties. I'm trying to find an article about it, but can't seem to track it down.

i found this one

Players bothered by screamers can complain to the umpire, who can levy penalties. But that's no consolation for fans in the stands and at home. Tennis should hit the mute button.

That's the one. It seems to me that if player would complain, it would stop. :?

Kvitova has game, Sharapova had game. :cry:

The complaining about the shrieking has gone too far, if you don't like it don't watch it, none of the players seem to care too much about it, why should the viewers? :?

viewers= money
no viewers= no money=no publicity=no sponsors=low prize money...., so viewers have the power...."the customer is always right"

that said, i don't care about it either

Good opening 8 games of the final. Rafa hitting 90% first serves and he is mot rolling them in.

Then as I'm typing Novak brings up the first break point and gets the set. He's looking very confident.
