I actually think the draw is pretty balanced this year, nobody has a cake walk to the final.

I was reading some of the editors picks at tennis.com for the mens champion, and most had sensible reasoning.

Then i read one, Bill Gray (senior editor) and he said that Nadal is pretty much a lock to cruise to the crown?

I know nadal is a favorite but with his draw can you really say a lock?

Roddick could get Llodra in 2nd and Kohlscreiber in 3rd. Those are tough early matches.

that guy probably reckons that Rafa's got the rest of the competition on a tight leash, especially Federer.

Some guys just like to say things to be different. I doubt he believes Nadal is a 'lock' for Wimbledon, how can you possibly believe that

Not directly related to this Wimbledon discussion, but I didn't want to open a new thread for it so I just thought to post here this link to an excerpt from Patrick McEnroe's new book:

http://tennisworld.typepad.com/tenniswo ... /#comments

Just making an observation here, but some of those comments included in the above excerpt regarding Rafa's locker room antics, time stalling and gamesmanship, are fully backed up by another source as well.
This was from little while back- Wimby '07,

French Open champion Nadal was heavily criticised last week after a stormy third-round clash against Roger Soderling who accused him of time-wasting throughout.

And now Roger Rasheed, who worked with Hewitt for four years, has stoked up the controversy further by claiming Nadal not only breaks the rules during matches but also bullies opponents beforehand.

Rasheed rapped: “In the locker room Rafa is very intense. He’s always running around and trying to apply the intimidation factor.

“The referee can come in and say ‘We’re ready to play’ but sure enough he just has to go to the toilet one more time and then sits there making his opponent wait for another minute.

“Then he goes out and does the same on court – by taking 30 to 40 seconds after very point.

“That’s part of his persona but it’s up to the opposition and the officials not to let it happen.

“Whenever Lleyton played Rafa, I’d have a word with the umpire to make sure that after the coin toss he’d warn him about the time issue.

“Rafa used to get upset about this. He doesn’t like referees speaking to him in this manner. But the rules must be enforced.”

Not making any judgement here, just observing what some people have said.

Anyway, didn't mean to divert this year's Wimby discussion, so back on topic,

regarding the draw,

-Federer - I reckon Fed will probably be quite pleased here. Not what one would call a monster of a draw.
-Murray - I would say it's almost as preferable as Federer's.
-Nadal - Much tougher than Federer and Murray's.
-Djokovic - Easily the toughest of the big 4. I'll be happy if he manages to make the quarters and would be a feat for him to make the semis given Roddick is in his quarter.
