I was surprised Del Potro stayed in it mentally more than anything, it bodes really well for him.

Fed has a great record against Soderling but I really think that goes out the window given how much confidence Soderling has and everything that is on the line for Federer. I actually think the outcome of the match depends more on Robin than it does on Roger.

Well done to Fed, he really put the pressure on Del Potro when he needed to in the 5th set.

Del Potro just couldn't find his 1st serve, and Fed punished him for that...

At 3-3 after Del Potro broke back, he desperately needed a solid hold.. Did extremely well to go to deuce from 0-40 (all from 2nd serves...).

The double fault said it all, the pressure of the hold was too much.

So, Fed won in 5 not in 4.

Not bad. He is the finalist yet again. Let us see if he can finally bag the French's Roland Garros.

Wouldn't it be nice that he ties Pete's all-time grand slam record with the major he never was able to win because of his nemisis, Nadal.

Has he ever been pushed to 5 sets twice on his way to any of his other majors, I don't think he has? He is really showing the grit between his teeth that maybe has been missing for a while.

It would be absolutely incredible if he can do it, anyone with tickets is very lucky but I don't know if I can bear to watch.

Yeah... thing is if Fed lost.. it would be... Oh but i didnt play well and didnt take my chances, del potro didnt play amazing etc... we have heard it all before...

Omg I think you are getting confused with Serena Williams .

Federer would congratulate his oponents even when he loses, he has , on occasions made excuses , but not a lot , specially with Del Potro , that he said had the potential to be the new number 1

Another record already for Fed, 19 grand slam singles finals, tied with Ivan Lendl.
