Good choice Xavi :tu

I've been using these Image

for the past 6 months and they're the best strings I've ever used.

Do you really use 16 gauge strings??? Don't they make ALU POWER in 17 gauge?? Man you should always use the thinnest string possible- more spin and more feel. Personally I don't care about durability at all so I just go for the best performing strings.

If you're looking for the thinnest, juiciest string possible - lux does make a couple 18 gauge strings as well. I used to love 18g poly mains/17g multifil cross.

Now that you mentioned durability I'm curious: how long can you guys play (hours on court) with 1 set of BB or Timo before breakage?

I have tried my best to like Luxilons. Tried both Timo and BB. The only way I can see it works for me is with a Multifil hybrid. But I break strings with such setup every 2 hours or so  Full bed of Luxilon is horrible for me. Just too stiff, no feel.

And I tried so hard to be "cool" :?

Anyway, anyone looking for a soft Poly with more spin then Luxilon, and you are in USA (I think you cant get these in Europe yet):

String Full bed with these. I tried a few Polys out there, and this is better then most to me. The first 2-3 hours the spin is noticeably better then ANY string I used before. Usually last me over 10 hours easily.

I use http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/mansionselect_2118_354829892 (its gamma zo ice) i cant get a picture to work

I was breaking strings right and left so I had to get some more durability as paying for stringing my racquet every week was damn too expensive!

I almost never break strings, I just change them when they start feeling dead. I like to think I hit pretty hard but I also string my racquets pretty loose (52 lbs or so) so.... I don't really break strings.

I totally forgot about those strings Al, I'll give them a shot, I'm restringing in the next couple days

the durability is awesome, can't tell how many hours, but best strings i've ever tried ( and i've tested a lot of brands), i´ll keep looking for new things though

My setup:

Racquets:Head Flexpoint Prestige, yes the old one, i haven't found a better one, or better said one that suits my game better than this one, it's just phenomenal.

Tension: 25 kg on clay, 24 kg on "grass"
string pattern: 18x20
weight: 332 gr
Strings: Luxilun BB (16)
Over Grip: HEAD Agassi Pro blue

Player:

Height: 1,88 m
Weight: 80-80,5 kg
Forehand: eastern grip
Backhand: 2 handed backhand

I play 80% of the time on "grass", so i´m an aggressive player on my game, i go for the point, and i don't generate tons of spin on my strokes, that's one of the reason i don't break a lot (using the BB strings)
75%-80% from the baseline
25%-20% at the net

that being said, all that things above work for me, but you guys have to understand that every player is different and therefore will need a different setup

The strings that i have found that work best for me are the Luxilon ALU Power Spins(crosses) and Pro Hurricanes(mains). I love the spin i get and the luxilons also keep my strings straight, so i dont have to be my perfectionist self to keep adjusting them!
I found i broke a lot of strings for the level im playing at, but it wasnt like, every two hours.
It was maybe twice in a week, then i got string savers to stop 'em a poppin'!

And i just realised that what i just said would nearly be perfect fro advertising the products

Sounds good guys. :tu

I am confident you will like them. If you like them more then your current setup - don't know, but for sure you will find them to be "good" polys.

I hardly ever play competitive matches any more  but when I do:

Racquet: Babolat Pure Storm Ltd. GT
Tension: 60lbs
String pattern: 18x20
weight: 338 gr
Strings: Solinco Tour Bite 18 (1.16)
Over Grip: Tourna Grip

Player:

Height: 6'2 (1,88 m)
Weight: 175lbs (80 kg)
Forehand: western grip
Backhand: 1 handed backhand Eastern Modified.

Playing 99% on Hard courts. Forehand is my better shot, I can pretty much do anything with it. Mostly heavy deep balls, lots of spin. I can flatten it out too. Flat BH, lots of slices from that side, I can control the slice very well and have a good amount of side spin on it. Basically I try and hit FH every time I can, running around my BH all the time unless forced to hit one. But when I do, I mostly hit it flat and hard, I lack precision from that side, but make up for it with pace and a clean hit. I come to net a lot, SV at times. Good first serve, horrible second  I was taught attacking game-style with lots of SV and finishing points quick.
