Federer versus Tsonga

Wow guys, I dont know how to elaborate on this; Im supposed to be studying for my exam but that was by far one of the most volatile matches i terms of momentum shifts, I have ever seen. Sad to see Federer implode int the final set tiebreak, but what a great match; I hope Federer shows the kind of resilience that brought him through the French and Wimbledon, because he seemed to kind of give up in the tiebreak. Great match nonetheless, and would like to hear your opinions.

I don't think Federer puts all his effort in tournaments other then GS. In a GS he would cry after a match like this. Here he kindda laughed.

Exactly, i really think he lost interest in it, he was like well im uo 5-1, and im bored

I honestly think in a GS, he would have closed it out. Plus he will be fresher heading into cincy, and possible the open.

He did lose 2nd round last year so, at least he improved
(I think they should rename the tournament)

You have to look at the rest of his performance leading up into the U.S. Open.

I was not shocked to see this after reading this thread:

If you said: "Tsonga will beat Federer coming from 7-6, 1-6, 1-5 down to win in a 3rd set tiebreak!"
then yes, Tsonga beat him like you said.

Federer was preoccupied with thoughts of his twin girls. Children > Tennis (at least when they're young). Federer's US Open winning days are a thing of the past. True story.

I'm surprised Federer even made the trip to be honest when his kids are only a few weeks old.

I thought Djokovic had picked up again but it was another false dawn, he looks quite lightweight next to Murray now, who himself looks like he has bulked up again since Wimbledon.

Murray or DelPotro are my picks for the US Open at the moment.

I did not know all of that, but I still said it. LOL. I did not have to be right you know.

I have been wrong with my forecasts.
