I agree. This is a very good time for tennis whether anybody else realizes it or not.

Since 2005, any GS tournament have changed, except for the US Open.

Before 2005 (from slow to fast):

French Open: Slow Clay
Australien open: Slow Hardcourt
US Open: fast hardcourt
Wimbledon: fast grass (the fastest surface)

Today:

French Open: fast clay
Australien Open: since 2008 slower than before, closer to clay speed
Wimbledon: slow grass
US Open: fast hardcourt

Melbourne and Wimbledon are better for Nadal, Paris better for Federer (Sampras and all the other had to play on much slower clay in Paris; and all the clay cour speciallists like Guga, Bruguera, Muster, Moya had to play on much faster grass).

In comparation to Sampras, Federer has it more difficult to win Wimbledon and the Australien Open (since 2005 and 2008), otherwise he has advantages in Paris.

You´re probably right, nowadays we can see as many aces in Paris as in US Open.
I didn´t know, but I heard last week that they´re using new balls at Roland Garros this year, I mean the surface is importanat but I think that the type of balls have more influence in terms of speed
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

True, At wimby they use really 'fluffy' light balls that grip the surface better to create more topspin, i wouldnt be surprised if the grass hasn't changed that much at wimbledon but the balls have radically. They are also less pressurised than before.
