ITST TE Tour 2014 Calendar Information

Postby VMoe86 » Mon, 23 Dec 2013 01:46

The 2014 tennis season is starting soon, so at ITST we have to follow this schedule! If one compares the state of ITST Mod today to that of one year ago, i.e. end of 2013 compared to end of 2012, it seems as if no real progress has been made: Same questions arising, like "How are we gonna play on that slow AO surface?", "When is next version of ITST Mod going to release?" etc.

Answers in tennis are best given on court and here you can see on which courts you will be able to play in the coming weeks:

ITST TE 2013 Tour Tournament Overview

The highlight of January 2014 is going to be the Australian Open, where the defending champion won't be missed, the 2013 finalist is maybe trying a comeback and who knows what else is going to happen.

Have some nice holidays and a good start in 2014!

"How are we gonna play on that slow AO surface?"

I don't get it. Didn't we play through slower french open just fine? Why is AO a problem now. I don't even know.

P.S. New update. NEW Update..... NEW UPDATE!!!!! BanzaiIiiii!!

For French Open ITST 1.14/1.15 was "new", now everyone knows that version by heart. Besides, French Open was more slippery, thus a bit easier to wrong foot someone. It was also higher bouncing, so one could get shoulder height accelerations more often.

Ok I have this weird calculation done in my brain. So on the 8th of December Manutoo released new update to TE13.
He changed the movement significantly. People who didn't like the update hit the forums with complaints.
6 days later Manutoo released another update. He said the movement is 30% different compared to the last one.

Doesn't that mean the movement is 70% different than before. That's kinda a big different.

Coupled with Will/Will not be released ITST 1.16 that should give a lot of freshness to the game.

P.S. I'm gonna keep playing either way so let's just see what Elias decides.

Bump for February Tournaments: One of the most busy months in the whole year is February, where tournaments for all tastes will be offered in the same week. Be it Clay, Indoor Hard, Outdoor Hard, Challenger or Futures Tour -- there is something for everyone! Take a look at what you want to play:

And there is also a special tournament, that will start in February:

Bump for April Tournaments: April is another busy month, the real start of the Clay Season! There are tournaments for all tastes, some are just "Clay", the surface physics used at Roland Garros (all clay courts except Madrid and Rome), others are "Blue Clay", which is a bit faster clay (use Madrid or Rome court when the tournament says "Blue Clay"). There are also plenty of Challengers and Futures, where we are looking forward to see talent rising or maybe even veterans getting back into the game!

Maybe an obvious question, but I'm sure other guys have the same doubt: For example, Houston (US man clay) is among "blue clay" tourneys, does it mean we can't use its own court, but have to use Madrid/Rome? Or does Houston already have its "blue clay" parameters, so Madrid and Rome are not the only "blue clay" courts, but just used as examples?

Agree it's a bit misleading, dunno why they choose the faster clay for such tournaments (especially Houston wich is i think known to be the slowest clay among all :p), probably for more gameplay variety (and because regarding TE, you really can't go wrong choosing a faster surface actually), so overall, it's not a bad choice either imo. Though, indeed, that means you can't use Houston court for this tournament, same thing for other tournaments notified as blue clay, for all of them you have to use any Madrid or Rome courts, as in the mod, only these courts provide these different clay physics.

That was my reasoning behind it: Offering both clay surfaces each week, because two ITST 1000 are played on the faster one. So, yes, you cannot play on Houston court, but only on Rome or Madrid ones.

Bump for Tournaments in May: May is played on Clay, hurray! With two ITST 1000 and one Grand Slam this is a month where a lot of points are at stake. While Roland Garros, the second Grand Slam of the season, is on "Clay", Madrid and Rome are played on "Blue Clay", which is a bit faster clay (use Madrid or Rome court when the tournament says "Blue Clay"). There are also plenty of Futures (in Mexico played on Decoturf for a change!), which offer chances to fine-tune your games or just get a bit more competitive matches under your belt.

Bump for the first week of June (rest to follow at some point this week): June is starting off with the first grass court tournament of the season, a Challenger in Nottingham, which is also El Croato's debut as host! There are also two Futures tournaments, one on Blue Clay, the other one on Standard Clay, to finish off the big clay court season so far.

In June the grass is in full bloom! While there are not as many points to win as there were in May, the most prestigious tennis tournament is being played at Wimbledon, where butcher is trying to defend his Wimbledon title from 2013 (and he has done a good job of defending his 2013 titles so for!). To fine-tune the game, there are a couple of 250s before Wimbledon, but beware: The grass courts at Wimbledon are a bit different and no tune-up has the Wimbledon grass!

In between players will find Futures and Challengers Tournaments on clay to prepare for the last clay tournaments coming in July!
