Really? Then why is it that in every tournament over 30% of the players use Federer?

You think that with 15% less speed and worse FH stats he is as dangerous?

I (using Berdych) beat Elias (using Federer) in a Berdych vs. Federer test match-up and Elias (using Berdych) beat me (using Federer) in the mirror match-up. Just look at the power and spin stats: Close to 90% power on the FH with 12% or 13% spin, that's huge.

I think it's because of Robbin performances with Berdych, he plays really well with him ;)

Kono(Del Potro) vs AmazOuz (Federer): 7/6(2), 7/6 (5).

My first ITST match in TE tour and couldn't have been any closer. We had connection problems many times but now Amaz has new and nicely working connection which is great! There was no breaks in hole match and both served very well. There were something like 2-4 break points altogether. I think I was a bit luckier in tiebreaks and that was enough. Very happy to win my first match here, thanks and gl in the future Amaz!

VMoe86 (del Potro) defeats SlicerITST (Tsonga) 6-4 6-2

Slicer said he is a bit rusty, but he played a good match. He served very well: 73% first serve in, 125mph average first serve speed. I could take care of my service games easily, but breaking him was not easy. He backed up the serve wtih solid one-two punches, but longer rallies were in my favour.

The longer the match lasted, the more I got into his service games (even though he served at around 80% in the second set). The key was to use b1 well.

Good match! Now Elias is waiting in the QF again, as if we did not play enough in the last tournaments and days regarding testing.

Ugadalou (Berdych) vs polca456321 (Tsonga) 6-3/3-6/6-3.

We both used heavy,hard-hitting chars with big serves so it was a serve-battle.

In the first set I felt I was in control of the match,as I had the upper hand in rallies and served better (polca struggled with 35% 1st serve in).I managed to get a break and that was it.

Second set,I got a break early and then had a major meltdown. One bad service game,my opponent breaks back, finds rhythm and starts reading my game much better. He keeps the momentum and breaks again for 6-3.

Final set, polca seemed to have the upper hand, dictating most of the rallies and finding the lines. He had one bad service game though,I returned aggresively and managed to break. He was still better in rallies so I struggled very hard to keep my serves until the end and not to lose my concentration, relying mostly on my serve.

It was a thrilling match for R16 and we were both unlucky in that sense-polca exiting too early for his level and for me because I had a difficult match for R16.He's climbing the rankings fast though and will soon be where he deserves.

Elias already mentioned serve stat changes in v1.08 which I think is needed,as I finished the match with 30 aces and polca with 18- unreal numbers.

Ugadalou (Berdych) vs Robbin92 (Berdych) 4-6/6-7

Congratulations to Robbin for his win,he was the more efficient player in the match and deserved it.
Both serves were strong in general but in 1st set I got broken in the first game and that was enough.

I feel I had my chances in the match but failed to convert and so the loss came naturally.
First set I had 0-40 on his serve to break right back and in the 2nd set I wasted 3 set points on his serve just before the tie-breaker.Robbin reacted well on those points too though.

First match played in 1.08 and it was a good one.
Ugadalou is a very tough opponent, but had some trouble to return my second service aggresively.
I started well and took an immediate break, after which I could barely hold my own serve. The rest of the set was about serving: 6-4.
In the second set our strategies didn't changed, but there was some more tactic playing as rallies lasted longer. I could work away three set points at 5-6 before prevailing in the tiebreak. Finally I didn't choke, maybe in 1.08 I dont choke haha :p.
Success at US Open Uga, I think you can make a deep run!

One Berdych down, one more to go: VMoe86 (del Potro) defeats Elias (Berdych) 6-2, 6-3 and sets up a SF clash with Robbin92.

There is actually not much to say about this match, although I'm sure some expected a classic. First of all Elias played without a warm up (me neither), but Berdych's serve is more difficult to time compared to del Potro's. So I served really well, whereas he only served around 40% in the first set -- I took advantage of the second serves and breezed to a 5-0 lead. Then he held for the first time and broke me back one time, but I was not rattled by it. Not even I can give away a lead with a double break. :P Even better, I managed to break him to win the first set 6-2, but he double faulted on the break point. He made too many double faults overall.

Second set, well, he served better and so it was mainly about holding serve. I got my chances to break and took one, served it out. Del Potro is a very powerful character and in my opinion a bit better than Berdych at rallying. In theory Berdych should have the better serve with these stats, but the animation can cause troubles.

Rest up for the US Open Elias, you can play better than what you showed today (regarding positioning, not just serving) and hopefully we are in different halfs for a change. ;) Hope you can play the US Open properly from that other PC, but I'm counting on you making a deep run! :)

Here are the stats (only 9 aces in total, some gotta work on their return if they are aced too often ;)):

Well yes, you know, my level is fluctuating a lot from time to time. Especially when i improve my game in a period, i usually have some decline after that and then have to catch up and stabilize my level, don't know why

Also hours of testing with different chars recently didn't really helped me with my game, almost doing a yellow ball overdose

Our match with Vmoe was very serve driven and i couldn't hold Berdych serve well enough, and also Vmoe played at a very good level, made much less ue's than i did. In fact he also plays at a great level at this time and when we both are in good form we are usually very close, if one of us is in a weaker/average form then the other will prevail if playing solid at his best level.

For now 'Moe is the unlucky one as i already won some tournaments and as he often lost prematurly due to characters imbalances or unlycky draws, so i'm wishing him good luck this time 'coz he really deserves some reward for his level.

And about my game.. i have to recover my consistency or i won't be able to go deep in the US Open.
