Fake slice and drop shot.

Postby JasonBourne » Sun, 12 Jan 2014 18:52

There are some guys here who abuse these 2 strikes:
- dropshot with the smash motion at the net.
- fake slice.

Pls stop it. It confuses your opponent in an unrealistic way, play fair..

What I mean with fake slice is, charging with slice and just before slicing the ball they switch to acc shot (and a hard one too). That is not possible in real life so stop doing that. Fake acc shot to slice or dropshot can be done, but not the other way around.

Dropshotting at the net with the smash motion needs no explanation. Though maybe its not done intentionally but it's irritating.

Play fair guys, it's not just about winning...

Well, you're right on the fact that we don't see this in reality (and for good reasons). Now it's really not effective I think, the "fake slice" cancels your charching so the shot will probably be weaker so I don't see any good point here (I can understand the opposite, if you feel you're not well placed you switch at the last moment with a slice to at least get the ball). Now since it's not possible in real life it shouldn't be possible in the game.

The dropshot on smash is also not a good shot (though I must admit I find it quite funny :c ) but this time in reality they could do it and it would be as -not effective- as in the game so honestly I don't really see the problem with this (even the way the ball go is quite similar to what we could have in reality if someone tried a shot like that). If someone really tries to abuse of it, il will for sure not help him at all, and that's the reason why we never see this in a real match in reality.

Well, in you're right about the accuracy, it's not as accurate is a normal shot but still effective enough to put you out of balance. Especially if you're a baseline player. Because you come forward to attack that slice, and what you get is a acc shot unexpected. Took me out of balance alot..

I guess I could agree with your on the dropshot, but like you said, the effectiveness in the game is better than in real life. If they fix this then the problem would be solved.
