Returning Serve - Impossible

Postby iBullet91 » Sat, 15 Jun 2013 06:58

Hi,

Can anybody give some advice about returning serves (sorry I know this a common difficulty area).

It seems to me like - impossible. It seems if you stand further back then you find yourself too far behind the baseline so your opponent can easily hit winners using short accels and drops. However, come closer and you get aced a lot more. So which is best?

I use the autopos trick but it doesn't seem to help me. My return is never good because I cannot get in a good position in time - so my return is rarely deep or powerful. Any serve with speed over 170km/h I find hard to hit.

It makes it hard to win sets (especially against the best servers) as my opponent only has to break my serve and then he has pretty much got the set. It takes away some of the enjoyment of playing.

How can I get better? Any help much appreciated! :D

Reread elias's post on how to return using autopos. If you're having problem clearly you're not using it.
Pay attention to every word especially the ones that tell you what to do.
