Davis Cup Has Started

Postby Rob ITST » Mon, 31 Oct 2011 03:10

As promised, Davis Cup is ready to begin. Also as promised, for any captains that did not send me their lineups and court choice - I have chosen this for you (for the lineups, I went from top down on the registration thread, so there was no bias).

To see what matches need to be played, check the Schedule/Results section of the Davis Cup page - this section also shows which court you must play on. Find your team, and then, click "View News & Results" to see the individual matches.

When you have played your matches, send the results to me in a PM. Remember, the matches must be played in order - Rubber 1, Rubber 2, Rubber 3, etc.

I have a small request:

When you send me your results, please include the platform (Xbox or PS3), and the team you play on.

Update:

There is some confusion about the deadlines. The deadlines on the Davis Cup page, and the draw are for the first match only. You have one week for each match. Here are the deadlines for all matches:

Rubber 1: Nov 8th
Rubber 2: Nov 15th
Rubber 3: Nov 22th
Rubber 4: Nov 29th
Rubber 5: Dec 6th

The next round will start Dec 12th.

Note: It is OK to play the matches early, as long as they are played in order. So, once Rubber 1 is played, you may play Rubber 2, etc.

The first rubbers are complete. There were two walkovers out of the two tours - not bad, but it could be better.

I suggest to the captains that you push your teammates a bit to get their matches played. Help them with translations when needed, and make sure they understand how to properly arrange a match. One week to play a match should be more than enough.

The deadline for Rubber 2 is Nov. 15th.
