Haha this is so true, if you are a power player it sucks the life out of your game completely and its so much harder to finish points or win matches. Clay is my least favourite surface in actual tennis too, seems to take away alot of the excitement of the sport, becoming all about stamina and fitness to keep in the long points, hence why Nadal tends to win on it.

They need to shorten the clay season and make the grass season much longer.

Half the clay season in length. Make more grass tournaments. Have French and Wibledon further apart. Or don't even have a French open cause it sucks and there is way 2 many frenchies at it.

Less clay more grass.

I often think this, the fact that there are only a couple of prestigious grass tournaments before the hard court season kicks in is criminal. I guess its because apart from the UK there are just not that many grass courts/stadiums around?

The French crowd are great at Rolland Garros, they totally understand tennis, abit like us Brits. Whereas when you go over to America as I did for the US Open, they seem more bothered about eating and talking than watching an extended rally.

I think I've played on clay once, which is fun only because you can slide around and dive without getting hurt. I've played on artificial grass but I think for me hard courts are the best just because of the pace it generates.

Hmmm... I don't know, I've had 2 relatively easy and comfortable games on clay so far. So maybe I'm actually a clay Godasures rex.

Until the mid-70's, 3 of the 4 Slams were played on grass (US Open were even played on clay for 3 years or so) but it takes much more work to keep it in a decent condition than clay or hardcourts.
