Sim Tour Change

Postby Ary1g » Mon, 27 Feb 2012 11:51

Why can't we be allowed to decide what wing is the stronger one in sim tour?

I would like to try Lorenz, though he's strength is his backhand. I prefer playing with a strong forehand. What's really the big difference with changing the wings? Instead of having your FH 64 and BH 74, you have FH 74 and BH 64? You still have the same weakness on one of the wings.

I understand that some coaches only give one wing an extra bonus, however, in those cases you can't get the wings reversed just like the original wings, it isn't allowed to change. This way, many more sim-players would be available for those who want strong forehands instead of backhands. It won't change the tour completely, however it will bring more freedom of choice to the users.

Sim tour would certainly be more interesting for me if you could choose your wings.

With a weak backhand you can run around it and hit a forehand. One could also run around forehands, but I haven't seen someone doing it constantly on the SIM Tour and if someone did, I'd ask for it to be considered cheesy. Therefore a strong forehand gives you more options than a strong backhand, so simply switching wings would make players like Nakamura or Lorenz stronger.

You've got a good point. Though I think the tour needs more good forehands then. Maybe more variety in skills too. Have there been tested gold coaches with a level 15 player? Lower attributes with more skills might be interesting.

Here's some for instance:

Matthew Grody:
Diesel Hard Hitter, Volley Shot Artist
5-5-5 build
475 attribute total
3 bonuses to forehand

FH: 71
BH: 46
Serve: 62
Volley: 59
Power: 62
Stamina: 59
Speed: 56
Reflexes: 60

Toby Allen:
Diesel Returner, Fatality
5-5-5 build
475 attribute total
3 bonuses to forehand

FH: 61
BH: 49
Serve: 62
Volley: 52
Power: 51
Stamina: 70
Speed: 67
Reflexes: 63

Damian Salazar:
Diesel Server, Crushing Passing Shot
5-0-10 build
475 attribute total
2 bonuses forehand, 1 bonus backhand

FH: 64
BH: 59
Serve: 61
Volley: 50
Power: 53
Stamina: 64
Speed: 69
Reflexes: 55

There's loads of gold coaches still to mention, so this is maybe a interesting thing to start testing. :)

I think not having a level 20 player is silly to be honest

Why is it silly? :?

It would allow many gold coaches and interesting builds to be a part of the Sim Tour without being overpowered.

More good forehands?? Nah there are more good FH then BH.

One problem is that not all coaches let you exchange the FH or BH without changing the whole stats.

Meaning that if you can't change the wings without changing whole stats, it isn't allowed.

No interest? I think the sim tour needs to be reworked(happy Djarvik? ;) ). Needs more power and more builds. I would gladly be testing setups if there's interest in improving it. :)

I think Dennies suggestions would be fun to test out more. Still needs twice as many builds imo.

What do you think?

haha, aren't we a community together? ;) It's just a bad habit really. I look at ITST as a community, where we are all of us.

Sorry for the double-post. Just want your attention. :D

What are your thoughts about gold coaches and low leveled players? :)

The way I understood this is that if you haven't unlocked all coach skills your player would be glitchy. Don't think it cares about what level your builds are as long as you have completed all coach objectives. I might be wrong though.
