Quitting the Tour after AO

Postby omidje90 » Thu, 19 Jan 2012 17:05

Hi mates!

I'll play he Australian Open. After that i will quit the tour for a while, untill the new problem is fixed. I play this game for my fun, and with the new cheat opportunities its impossible to trust anyone, and i don't feel chill about that. I am sure that 99,9% of ITST is fair and won't cheat, but this crap destroyed the Tour, so decided to quit untill the problem is fixed. If its fixed, i 'll comeback because despite i couldn't raise my level to a toplplayer, i always enjoyed it!

Good luck,

Omidje90 :D

As far as i know, there's no way to see players patching. They are waiting in the main menu, untill you invite them, and then they got the patchy player. Because of all this crap, i'm not even sure that this is the only way to cheat.. Ther might be more ways to do it, i dunno! The thing is, if i'm playing in a tour like this, i don't want to point out all the options my opponents might have done to cheat me or other players. If this solution is solved, i'll come back. If its not, i only play friendlies for fun sometimes like tiger does ;)

There is no way to see it, you can only "feel" the difference on court. I recommend the following (and look that your opponent does the same):

1. Start the PS3.

2. Log in to PSN (if you don't have Auto Log-In enabled).

3. Start Top Spin 4 and enter the Game Menu (in the friends list you will see your opponent appearing as "Top Spin 4 Navigating through the game menu").

4. Make sure that your opponent proceeded in this way (by looking at your friends list).

5. Send or accept an invite.

This way you are pretty safe unless your opponent has a friend, who sends him an invite which he accepts from the PSN Menu, so that it looks as if he is starting Top Spin 4 in the way I described above. If you send him an invite and he accepts it, then your opponent will be pre-patched.

Maybe add a rule to ITST? Like: If you are invited, you got to be in the World Tour area to make sure that there's no cheating involved..?

In the meantime, all tournaments and matches will go on as scheduled. You may skip a tournament or two while waiting for this to be fixed, this is your choice. The tour will not be put on hold and will continue according to ATP schedule.

In the meantime, I suggest you have your opponent and yourself log-into the WT prior to the match (as described in this thread) and if you suspect foul play - notify the host. We will keep a close track of these complaints. As always, quitting mid match will result in a loss for you, so either don't start the match or finish it and complain then. "He said, she said" situations will be ruled as a No Match.
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.
