Swiss Indoors Basel Final (MS) Likos scrapes past a fierced Poumadoro 4-6, 6-4, 6-4

Image

Great match, classic final which had it all. Poumadoro was playing his best, he went to another level.

I tried to think positive throughout the game, whatever happens, i must play my very best in order to get past the fighter poumadoro.

Good game mate, the match could go either way :)

just had an amazing match vs Q8 - awesome the game was like a yo yo up and down although the first set was pretty even and we both held srve early on. however he broke me to go 4-3 up but i broke straight back and held serve to go 5-4 up and the next game i held it together with some solid play and broke him again to win the 1st set,

the 2nd set i staretd off really well hitting perfect shots afetr another and duly broke to lead 2-1 and i held serve until 5-4 where i was serving for the match and awesome played a great game and broke me back and it went all the way to the tiebreak, where awesome dismantled me 7-3 as i was still feeling abit pissed about missing the chance when i was serving for the match.

the 3rd set was great i broke early on but after that every game went to deuce and if i had just broken again i think i would of taken the match however awesome stayed mentally strong and held his serve.

then at 5-4 i was serving for the match again and i thought i was playing well this time around to see it out but awesome had other ideas, i was hitting shots deep hard into the corners with perfect timing but he was getting them back with interest he lifted it so well wen iw as serving for the match, i tried to hang on but i just couldnt he broke back to make it 5-5 and it went to the tiebreak again.

in the tiebreak i was close to breaking down at another missed opportunity serving for the match and he took a 4-2 lead but some sloppy poitns here and there i was was behind only 5-4, i thought i have to go 4 this now on his returns much more than im used too and i did and he got alittle tight and i clawed my way up to match point 6-5 and on my 1st match point i secured a win with a deep serve in the corner i came in to try and finish it off but he got to the ball but i was at the net to volley it down and end this great match.

the only problem i have now is that ive got awesome in the sim tour and that could take us hours to finish.lol wp tho mate great game and hope to play you again in the future

Valencia Open (MSS) SF:
One week after zooloo declassified me in kremlin-cup final, i could take revenge. Having lost all my matches against him so far, i did not expect a win.

Image

The first set I played very strong, zooloo's service game wasn't that stable so far and I was able to break him. Although he made me work a lot, i could play out this set without big problems.

The second set started well again for me, having 3 break points. Unfortunately i could not make any of them, zooloo played his best under pressure. Second game he breaked me and served how we know zooloo: I was not able to touch his serve, he breaked me again and won 6-2.

The third set was a real thriller: it had everything, highs and lows, breaks and rebreaks with desperate situations. this was tennis on the highest level:

at 2-1 for zooloo, he breaked me and lead 3-1, but i was able to rebreak him. 3-2: i could not hold my serve, he breaked me again and was in front with 4-2. this was the time of breaks: i succeeded to break him and to hold my serve (4-4).
zooloo lead 5-4 and managed to get some match points, so he could have finished me off. Somehow I still won my game and could strike back by breaking him in his next service game.

6-5: serving for the match, I expected this would not be an easy service-game for me. Overall zooloo had some break points and myself some match points, after around 4 deuces i could win the match.

great match zooloo, I appreciate you very much.

Big match in Valencia Final against Fabada..

He managed to beat me 6-7 6-3 4-6 but it was a great match.. this guy is very hard to break there where 0 breaks in the first set, he broke me in first game of 2nd set, came to 2-0 lead when I broke him like 3 times in a row or something. In 3rd set I walked after his break advantage, and when I finally made it up, going to 4-4 he breaked me again and served out the match.. to bad but very high level of play overall very fun match.. Congratz Fabada with ur tournament win ur an awesome player.

Valencia Open MSS Final Murmeltier88 vs. Firderis 7/6, 6/0

Image

I though I have to share my first big win on ITST tour with all, after defeating my biggest national german rival Firderis :D

I knew it will be a tough and hard match and I was not expecting anything since I have to admit, that each SIM practise match Firderis and I had, was going into his favour and he won all the time, and in the Semi-Finals he beat Zooloo.....So what could I expect? lol... but somehow I could stop his big winning streak.

I think this was the best match I ever played, especially in the second set, where I think everything went well for me.

The first set was very tough - I had a good start, leading 2/0, but Firderis came back and archieved a 3/2 lead....after that, noone lost his serve and it went up to tiebreak.
In the tiebreak it was HE who had the chance to win the set, after a 6/5 lead, but somehow luck was on my side and I managed to get the mini-break back and won the tiebreak 8/6.
I think, he might have won the title, if he had won the point at 6/5...It was the point which turned the match around I guess :D

Overall a very good match and my first SIM title... I am happy, because I am always practising so hard....

world tour finals MSS

Alex-4487 vs zooloo
Image

Instant classic this was i finally got the better of zooloo again after like 4 or 5 straight defeats.

the 1st was great mixed up my serve well and came in on shrot balls as you can see i was at the net many times this match. zooloo broke me the 1st game though but i broke back twice and it was a long few games that went to deuce on many occasions, howver i served it out after another marathon game on my serve.

the 2nd set zooloo lifted his level and i tried really hard to stay in touch but he broke me the 1st few games and held serve well until 4-2 where i returned well to get up to 15-40 however two aces later it was back to deuce zooloo then played great to see out the game and also break me again to take it 6-2.

the 3rd set started off where he left off by breaking me to lead 3-1 and had break points to go 4-0 up but i held it 2gether and started to read his serve abit more and finally got the break back, then from then on i barely missed a shot and won the next 4 games in a row to record my 2nd lifetime victory over zooloo and go through in the deciding match in the group to the semi finals.

this was a great match and very fair as it always is vs zooloo im just glad i came up on the right side this time.
