maybe not

lol should not big yourself up before you play matches everyone can beat anyone else

yeah i was kidding when i wrote that first message... It was my first tournament here on ITST, cannot pretend to win it. I hoped to win at least 2 matches but i found a good opponent in the 2nd round.

@dark-disaster: don't worry, i'm sure you will have good results!

Thanks, I was hoping you would win the whole thing so my loss wouldn't feel so bad

just played my round 16 match vs kifkaka and it was an amazing match and the scorline doesnt do it justice it could of easily went 5 sets all the sets were close but i managed to break at the crucial time in each set.
i should of lost the 2nd set as i as a break down early on but i fought back and took it.
all the service games were tough mostly all of them went to deuce lol. my hardest match so far and it was great im into my 1st grand slam quarters which i would of easily taken at the start of the tournament.

R16
theyoungmc vs The_Hoff78
6-4 6-2 3-6 6-7 6-4

Match Report:

After a rain shower (he got disconnected :p) at 4-4 15-40, I was able to get the break and close the set on my serve.
The 2nd set was very straightforward with a couple of breaks.
Then I lost focus and he improved his game, to get up 5-1. I was able to get one break back but he closed on his 2nd attempt on his serve to get it 6-3.
I opened the 4th set refocused, getting an early 3-0 lead, With no breaks for the next few games, he was able to break when I was serving for the match, At the tiebreak he got a minibreak which lasted until 6-4, when I could finally win a point on his serve, only to lose the next one on my serve for him to close the set.
Once again I started the 5th strongly, getting an opening break. No more problems for either of us to hold until I was once again serving for the match at 5-4, when he got 3 break points, but was unable to get the break back. Finally I was able to finish the match at my 2nd match point.

Btw, I'm not being able to report the match result, I always get a message:
"Cannot place match result 81202 which was between Mikefare and Ex_storma"

just played my match vs cupelino and it was a good match with many logn rallies but the 1st set i managed to hit every corner on the line lol but form the 2nd set onwards it was really close but i managed to get the deiciding break early in the 2nd set and served the set out. in the 3rd we both broke each other but i broke again and if the match went into a 4th set i could of easily lost it as in the 3rd set i should of been 4-1 up but i let it slip away but i held my serve to progress.

in my 1st wimbledon semi and im up agaisnt the imfamous godzin lol but i will give it my best shot if i lose im happy with my run im shocked i made it this far to be honest but really happy.

Amazing match and i cant believe i came back and won it but i never gave up and battled through but the 1st two sets had alot of rallies but he came out on top in mostly all of em.

In the 3rd set though i started to read his play abit and got a read on a few shots. he was always standing 10 feet behind the baseline getting everything back so i had to use the drop shot abit but it had to be done i couldnt hit through him at all unless i hit a perfect shot lol.

eventually i got the break and held serve and in the 4th set it was pretty much the same. but in the 5th set it was all nerves and no steel, LOL

i got off to a great start and broke him and was 3-0 up i believe but godzin being the true champion he is kept at it and was hitting insane angles that i got back but he had an open court to aim at, so he broke me back and we both held serve until 4-4 when out of nowhere i hit some perfect shots flat counter about 4 of them in a row in 1 point and had godzin running all over the place and i finally got the break to lead 5-4 but the last game took a good 15minutes it went to deuce, advanatge him and me bout 6 or 7 times but i managed to hold on and won on a drop shot after making godzin retrieve the ball from the back of the court.

an amazing match and im still in shook i came back

Likos gets past his rival Dennie 6-2, 6-4, 6-1

Image

The match was great, i was expecting a very tough match and i got it, but in the crucial points i was more focused and determined i believe. I know dennie is a top player and will find ways to get his revenge for both RG and Wimbledon. He is a great sportsmanship as well and a fair player.

1set: I got a dream start by running a 4-0 lead. After dennie kept his calm and started pushing me, getting a break back and i didn't wanted to waste stamina so i didn't chased too many balls. He held his serve after and i served it out 6-2

2nd set: Ok dennie woke up for real now and it was a break fest! For some reason  we couldn't held serves until 3-3 where i kept my cool and i broke in 4-4 and i served for the set again. Dennie gave me a really hard time by saving two amazing sets points. I was i bit baffled and last set point i managed to focus and grab 2nd set 6-4

3rd set: It was like the first set, with the difference that dennie took first the lead by breaking me. Dennie was playing great and it was looking that it was his chance to take the match to the next level but i managed again to focus not to waste stamina and to keep the points as short as possible. I broke back and then never looked back. I had three match points at the end and dennie as a fighter that he is, he saved 2 matchpoints before falling 6-1.

After that he congratulated me, class act from dennie. Thanks man for the match, looking forward for our next match mate :)

Thanks alex, yes the match was long, when you play with Dennie, there are no easy/cheap points to win. You must fight for every point. We had very long rallies.

Average rallies were like 10-15 shots every point :)
